What is the full form of LLB


LL.B: Legum Baccalaureus in Latin (commonly known as Bachelor of Laws)

LL.B is an undergraduate degree in law, originating in England and offered in most common law countries like India. This is a first professional degree or a primary law degree for the students who want to pursue a career in the legal profession.

The "LL" is an abbreviation stands for plural legum (law). Creating a plural in Latin, they doubles the first letter. For example: pp for pages. So "LL" stands for plural legum or plural law.

Law is a very popular career choice in our country for a long time. It is also a very respected career choice. You must have a LLB degree to work as a lawyer. You can also choose other career options after LLB like corporate management, legal services and administrative services etc.

Note: United States does not offers LL.B. They provide professional doctorate J.D. which is a standardized degree in most states for the necessary bar exams before practice of law.

LL.B degree makes you a law graduate who is able to do practice in any in court of law. You can opt for an LLM (Master of Laws) to earn a master degree.
