AIMIM: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen

AIMIM stands for All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in English. It is the All India Council for Unity of Muslim, it is basically a political party mainly having its roots in the city of Nizams "Hyderabad" also nowadays the party has made a firm grip in many other Indian states like Maharashtra and Telangana.

Nowadays AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) is the second largest political party in Telangana Legislative assembly. In Maharashtra, AIMIM strengthens itself by winning in Aurangabad under Imtiyaz Jaleel.

The main ideology of AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) on which it works is the overall development of the Indian Muslims and Dalits by promoting their economic, social and educational status.

In the Telangana Legislative Assembly election held in the year 2014, the party gets its recognition as the state party by winning seven seats in that election.

History

AIMIM has its history in the city of Nizams, Hyderabad. The founder of the party was Nawab Mahmood Nawaz khan Qiledar who was from Hyderabad. He founded it under the guidance of Ulma-e-Mashaeqeen as a pro-Nizam party in the year 1927.

At that time AIMIM was known as MIM (Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen), the party organized its first meeting in Nawab Mahmood Nawaz khan's house on 12^th Nov.

The party then in the year 1927 feel that the Muslim community is being ignored in the country so they advocated against this shunned behavior and protested to set up Muslim Dominance in the country.

In the year 1938 Bahadur Yar Jung was elected as the president of the party MIM (Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) and fascinated the Muslim community that the manifesto of Bahadur Yar Jung was totally based on religion and culture, after the death of the Bahadur Yar Jung that is due to some political imbalance Qasim Rizvi elected as the new president of MIM (Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) in the year 1944.

There was another organization Razakars which is ruled by Kasim Razvi the organization was basically an Islamist Parliamentary Organization, the Razakars merge with the MIM and demanded a different Muslim Country that is being cut out from Hyderabad and will be named South Pakistan also the Razakar soldier march together to fight against the Indian government for the rise of a new country South Pakistan. As a result of this revolt, the Indian government planned an operation POLO in Sept 1948 led by the Indian Army and encroach on the City of Nizam Hyderabad and make it an integral part of India, the MIM in the year 1948 was prohibited for their all-political activities like conducting rallies, delivering speeches in public, mass gathering and also from participating in the election.

As a result, in the year 1948, Qasim Rizvi was imprisoned from 1948 to 1957 and declared a traitor and later was freed on a commitment that he leaves the country and shift to Pakistan permanently and handover all his political authority to Abdul Wahed Owaisi who was a lawyer and later renamed the party as AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen).

Asaduddin Owaisi, an Indian politician, is the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.

Party Performance in the Different States

The party raise their limits and also establish it in many other states

1. Maharashtra

In the year 2014 AIMIM won 2 seats in the legislative assembly election.

Imtiyaz Jaleel was the first member of AIMIM to win a seat outside Hyderabad, the party participated in the election by forming an alliance with VBA (Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi) which was led by the leader Prakash Ambedkar. AIMIM achieves great success under the leadership of Owaisi.

2. Bihar

AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) participated in the 2015 Bihar Assembly election and won five seats in Bihar but later in the year 2022 four out of five left the party and joined with RJD and leaving Akhtarul Iman lone alone in the party.

3. Uttar Pradesh

In the local body election in Uttar Pradesh (UP), AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) in the year 2017 won 32 seats, but when participated in the 2022 Legislative Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh (UP) AIMIM loose miserably over 100 seats.

4. Karnatka

AIMIM opened its account in Karnataka by winning four seats in the Municipal Corporation election.
