Allahabad State University is a university that the UGC has approved. Another name for this institution is Professor Rajendra Singh University. In the year 1887, Sir James Ramsay, who was serving at the time as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, was the one who established the organization. In the beginning, they referred to it as Allahabad Higher Secondary, but later, Sir. James Ramsay included the term "State" in the institution's name.

Allahabad State University

The University began its operations in a single structure on King George Street in Allahabad. However, it quickly outgrew this site, and in 1931 it moved to its current location on Park View Road. Several changes and improvements have been made to SUA throughout the years, the most notable being in the 1960s when campuses in Kanpur and Gorakhpur were established. PHD

Allahabad University provides courses leading to a doctoral degree in 31 fields. These fields include Economics, Entertainment, Arabic, Geography, Sanskrit, Psychology, Defense and Strategic Studies, Hindi, Medieval History, English, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, Business, Phys Ed, Electronics Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Physics, Anthropology, Material Science, Botany, Animal Science, Biochemistry, and Math. Candidates who have finished postgraduate work from a reputable institution can apply. However, they need to have a score on the CRET to be admitted.

The Application Procedure for Allahabad State University

The Allahabad State University offers students the opportunity to enrol in various programs. Students are required to apply to be considered for admission. A standardized exam is often required to get admission to university programs. Anyone hoping to join must submit an application and pass the screening exam. Students that meet the requirements may enrol at the University. Certain programs do not need you to take an admission exam. The University requires students to pass admission exams, particularly for specialized programs such as B.Ed. and M.Ed., B.Sc. and M.Sc., etc.

Eligibility Requirement at Allahabad University

Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they satisfy all of the following requirements to be accepted into the University of Allahabad:

  • Applicants must have finished their high school education with a 10+2 diploma or an equivalent test from a recognized board or University.
  • Candidates had to pass the qualifying test with a minimum overall score of 50%.
  • Those applying under the SC/ST/OBC category must get an aggregate score of at least 45% on the test to determine eligibility.
  • Applicants currently enrolled in the last year of their 10+2 studies or an equivalent program are also welcome to submit their applications. When admitted, students will be asked to provide evidence that they have passed the qualifying test with the required marks.

The Entrance Examination for Allahabad State University

The Allahabad State University Admissions Office conducts two different admission tests each year. It conducts a separate admission examination known as the UGAT for undergraduate programs and a different examination known as the PGAT for graduate programs; both are independent. UGAT refers to the Graduate and Undergraduate Admission Test, whereas PGAT denotes the Postgraduate Admission Test; both admissions examinations take place nationally. Postgraduate degrees that require PGAT include Women's Studies, Anthropology, Agricultural Science, and Biochemistry, as well as Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts degrees. Every one of the admission examinations has a time limit of two hours to complete it. Both online and offline modes are acceptable for carrying these out.

Admission Requirements

Candidates are selected for further consideration for admission to undergraduate level programs based on their performance in the Undergraduate Admission Test, often known as the UGAT test. To be considered for enrolment in the program, each prospective student must have earned a passing grade on the High School Board exam from an acknowledged board. An interview phase then follows this.

  • Candidates are needed to take the Post Graduate Admission Test, also known as the PGAT, offered by the University of Allahabad to be considered for postgraduate study. To be considered for enrolment in the program, each prospective student must have a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the study of the subject earned from an institution recognized.
  • A score on the Research Management Aptitude Test, often known as the RMAT and administered by AIMA, is one factor the institution considers when determining who will be admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program. Candidates who have earned a master's degree from a recognized institution in a field related to the course are eligible for enrolment.
  • To be considered for admission to the Law Degree program, applicants must first participate in the LFAT and LAT examinations. After that, they will be put through an interview process. To be qualified to apply for legal courses, every candidate must get a passing grade on the High School Board exam from a board recognized in their field.

Scholarship

According to Prof. KP Singh, the scholarship will be provided to students applying for undergrad, postgrad, LLB, and professional programs at Allahabad University. The scholarship would provide 5,000 rupees to each student chosen for the program. Prof. Singh said that individuals who have achieved the top marks in their class would be eligible for merit scholarships. Additionally, the government shouldn't provide him with scholarships or financial aid.

Aside from that, impoverished students attending the University should not have their studies hampered because of a lack of financial resources; book scholarships will be provided to help with this. Students from low-income families who want to enrol at the University will be required to submit applications, receipts of already paid fees, and other documents related to the admissions process. According to Professor KP Singh, a budget of two hundred thousand rupees has been allotted for the book.

Facilities

Library

It was built to meet the requirements of the University's students and the research scholars and faculty members working there. It assists the University in strengthening its classroom training activities and broadens the scope of knowledge related to the many research programs the institution is responsible for.

The University Library first opened its doors in 1916. Dr S.R. Ranganathan considered the "father of library science in India," was asked for advice on how to better the library in 1946. He gave the development plan to the University in March 1947, published by the University that same year. Its contents included various topics, including a new library building, labor, finances, and other important items.

Food Facilities

The University's administration does not run the mess provided in the AU Hostels. This indicates that the University will not financially support the organization's operations. Private individuals are hired on a contract basis to manage the facilities. Therefore, you are free to consume food at any location. You do not need to consume/buy food while you are here. Many students prepare their meals in their dorms or apartments.

On the other hand, the mess is completely under the supervision of the students in the hostel. There is one individual who is designated as the manager of the mess and is in charge of planning the meals. The hostellers get together to discuss and settle on the mess fees during their weekly meetings.

Instead of paying a flat fee each month, you will be charged a fee proportional to the number of diets you complete. The cost of a conventional diet is now Rs. 35, whereas a special diet is either Rs. 40 or Rs. 50. (which you will get on Sundays and some other days).
