  • To be eligible for admission to the B.A. (H) program, applicants must have earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 50% on their 10+2 examinations.
  • To be eligible for admission to the B.A.LLB program, applicants' cumulative scores on their 10+2 examinations must be at least 45%.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Courses at Calcutta University

  • Candidates want to take admitted into the (M.A./M.Sc) / MA/M.Sc / M.Sc (Ag.) programs require a Graduate Degree in a subject area relevant to the program.
  • To be eligible for admission into the MSc program in Chemistry or Environmental Science, applicants must first have completed and received a B.Sc. (H) degree in Chemistry with a minimum grade of 55 percent.
  • The minimum educational requirement for entry into the Master of Science in Biotechnology program is a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in life sciences, chemistry, physics, agriculture, biotechnology, or medicine.
  • Candidates must have at least 60 percent marks on average in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or its equivalent to be considered for admission into the Master of Science in Genetics program. They must also have at least 50 percent marks in their Bachelor of Science with Honours degree.
  • To be eligible for admission into the master's degree program in Atmospheric Science or Biophysics and Molecular Biology, students must have a minimum of 60 percent overall in their 10+2 grade point average.
  • To be eligible for admission into the master's degree program in Bioinformatics and Biophysics, candidates must have scored at least a 55 percent honours grade in the subject that is relevant to the program, as well as a 10+2 grade average of at least 60 percent in each of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • For admission into the M.A. (Education) program, applicants must score a minimum of 40 percent in their undergraduate degree.
  • Applicants for the M.A. in French must have either a B.A. with Honours or a score of at least 45 percent on the Pre-MA exam.
