CCC: Course on Computer Concepts

CCC stands for Course on Computer Concepts. National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, which operates within the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, has introduced the CCC course for the common people. This course aims to provide basic computer knowledge to make people computer literate. After completing this course, one can easily use computers for various purposes such as to type letters, sending emails, reading news, online shopping, social media, and more.

CCC Full Form

The duration of the CCC course is 80 hours and is conducted every month of the year. There is no age limit for this course. However, the candidates are required to fill out an online form available on the NIELIT official website to enroll themselves for the CCC. The examination fee is around RS. 500 plus tax.

The information should be correct, as it can't be edited or corrected afterward. The fee is also not refundable under any circumstances. The minimum eligibility criterion for this course is 12th class pass candidate from any recognized Board in India. However, there are a few exceptions.

The 80-hour duration of the course is divided into three parts:

  1. Theory takes 25 hours
  2. Tutorials take 5 hours
  3. Practicals take 50 hours

CCC is sponsored by (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology) (DOEACC society), an autonomous society under the control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MOE & IT).

The candidates can appear in the CCC exam in three different modes; each mode has different eligibility criteria, which are as follows:

  1. The candidates who are sponsored by NIELIT-approved institutes that are approved to conduct CCC courses can appear in this exam irrespective of any educational qualifications.
  2. The candidates, who are sponsored by government affiliate schools or colleges with a unique identification number from NIELIT for conducting CCC, can appear in this exam irrespective of any educational qualification.
  3. Direct applicants (who are not following the first two criteria) are also eligible for the CCC exam, irrespective of any educational qualification.

Eligibility

The following three modalities are available for candidates to register for the NIELIT CCC Examination, and the eligibility requirements for each mode are listed below:

  • Regardless of educational background, candidates sponsored by NIELIT- authorised Institutes are allowed to register for CCC Courses.
  • Candidates must obtain a special identity number from NIELIT and be funded by schools or institutions that are approved by the government, regardless of their educational background.
  • No matter their educational experience, Direct Candidates (without having actually finished the Accredited Course or without having been funded by a Government Recognized School or College) are eligible to apply.

Who is qualified to lead the course:

The institutions explicitly approved by NIELIT for conducting CCC shall provide the instruction and training for CCC. Additionally, students have the option of self-studying the course and applying directly to sit for the CCC exam administered by NIELIT.

Examination Charges:

The CCC examination fee is Rs. 360 (Rs. 340 for the examination fee plus Rs. 20 for form processing fees), which must be paid online when completing the online examination form using NEFT/RTGS/CSC-SPV/Online (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking). Service Tax, when applicable, is included in the examination fee. No provisions are made for late fees.

Acceptance of CCC course:

The following states had already approved the "CCC" course for use in state government departments for hiring and promotion.

  • Gujarat
  • Maharashtra
  • Controller General of Accounts
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Arunachal Pradesh
