She has two siblings, an elder sister, and a younger brother. Her elder sister, Khushboo Patani, is a lieutenant in the Indian army from a very young age.

Education

She had a dream of becoming an airforce pilot, so she pursued her engineering degree at Amity University, Lucknow. She prepared strenuously for clearing the difficult exam to fulfill her dream to become an airforce pilot.

Early life and debut

After making up her mind of becoming a star, she contested in Pond's Miss Femina Indore and grabbed up the runner-up position. She followed her road to Bollywood, and as a first step, she landed in the city of dreams, Mumbai. She struggled a lot to survive alone in the vast city of Destiny. She acted in many commercials just to pay her rent and to sleep without an empty stomach. She used to attend many auditions at the very beginning, just to pay up her rent and daily needs.

In her interviews, she never used to brag about the struggle she faced; she faced the most important face of survival in the industry with the comment that these struggles are common in all sorts of jobs for beginners. She strongly believes hard work is the only road ahead; she maintains her fitness through gymnastics, workouts, and a perfect diet. This hard work paid off. A golden ticket reached her. To act in Loafer, a Telugu film, alongside Varun Tej in 2015. This was made under a huge budget, but unfortunately, this movie didn't knock up the box office. Soon, she made her Bollywood debut in an album titled "Befikra" along with Tiger Shroff, produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner. It was outstanding, and the chemistry between Tiger and Disha just made the place enchanted.

From a small seed to a sapling

She made her commercial breakthrough under Neeraj Pandey's direction in MS. Dhoni -The untold story along with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kiara Advani in 2016. This captures the biography of MS Dhoni, the former Indian team captain. This movie was a tremendous hit with a box office collection of 216 crores, and everyone loved her performance. She also starred in a Chinese movie "Kung fu Yoga" along with Jackie Chan, whom she confessed as her greatest role model. Soon another project knocked her, starring along with Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 2, an action sequel to Baaghi. This movie was released under Sajid Nadiadwala production on 30^th March 2018. This movie was also a commercial success with a whopping box office collection of 257 crore rupees.

After two commercial hits-MS Dhoni -the untold story and Baaghi 2, she starred as Salman Khan's early love interest in Bharat, a movie based on a sequence of incidents from post-independence to the present day. This movie was released in 2019. This movie was also a huge grosser. She then acted alongside Aditya Roy Kapur in Malang, which was released in February 2020. She also starred in Prabhu deva directorial-Radhe, along with Salman Khan, which was a complete action film. This film was released in August 2021.

Her future projects include Ekta Kapoor's KTina, Mohit Suri's Ek villain returns, a sequel of Ek villain, a massive hit. She will be starring along with John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, and Arjun Kapoor.
