Huma Qureshi
Huma is a model and Indian actress mainly working in Hindi cinema. She has appeared in numerous Hindi films. Qureshi has been able to register itself in the three Filmfare Award nominations. She received an Honours degree in History from the University of Delhi; before coming to the Cinema, she worked as a theatre and model actress. After trying luck in various theatrical cinemas, she shifted to Mumbai. Huma signed up for a two-year commercial advertisement with Hindustan Unilever. Anurag Kashyap spotted her when she was doing an advertisement for Samsung and recognised her acting skill. Kashyap signed a deal with Huma to do 3 films with his company.
Huma was widely appreciated for her role in her debut film called Gangs of Wasseypur. Gangs of Wasseypur is a crime-thriller film with a huge fan following. Her role in the Gangs of Wasseypur helped him to earn Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and Best Supporting Actress. Qureshi did the movie Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, where she was given a lead role. Subsequently, she also did an Ek Thi Dayan movie.

Huma's Acting Career
She shifted to Mumbai in 2008 and gave an audition for the movie called Junction. However, she felt dejected, as this film did not make it. She had worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan for an ad shoot. She met Anurag Kashyap during these ad shoot days. She received a breakthrough in the Tamil Film Industry as her film Billa II was produced and directed by Chakri Toleti. Billa I is a gangster-thriller film, but sadly, this film also did not make out.
Huma did a role in the movie called Gangs of Wasseypur. In that film, she portrayed the role of the wife of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She received tremendous applause and was widely appreciated for her role. Even critics commended her effort. She was part of the Ek Thi Daayan, in which other cast included Kalki Koechlin, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Emraan Hashmi. The film was able to gather mixed responses from the critics and viewers, but the film was able to earn some profits from the box office.
She also did a film called D-Day in which stars like Irfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, and Shruti Hassan were part. She was asked to play the role of Zoya Rehman, a Raw agent. Her co-actors in Dedh Ishqiya include Madhuri Dixit, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, and it was a commercial success at the box office earning $ 4.1 million. She was able to garner applause from the critics and audience in which she had played the role of the companion of a con woman.
She played the role of a prostitute in Sriram Raghavan's crime thriller Badlapur. Badlapur casts include Nawazudduin Siddiqui and Varun Dhawan. She was praised for her role. The film was a huge commercial success at the Box, and she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Nomination in Filmfare awards. The highway is Umesh Kulkarni's Marathi film, and Huma made her debut with this film in the Marathi Industry. The film gathered mixed reviews and did fairly well at the box office. She was also part of a collaborative film: X: Past is Present. She also made her debut in Malayalam cinema with a film called White. Her co-star was renowned megastar Mammooty, but sadly, the reviews were not supportive and started with a negative review.
Her film Jolly LLB 2, which was in line with the original film called Jolly LLB, received mixed reviews and was a commercial hit at the box office. Her next film was Viceroy's House, and the film is based on the Indian Independence movement and subsequent partition.
