Kali Linux (previously known as BackTrack Linux) is a Debian-based open-source Linux distribution for advanced penetration testing and security auditing. Kali Linux has a large number of tools for several information security tasks like Penetration Testing, Security Research, Computer Forensics and Reverse Engineering. Kali Linux is a multi-platform solution for information security professionals and enthusiasts that are both accessible and free.
On March 13th, 2013, Kali Linux was published as a complete, top-to-bottom rebuild of BackTrack Linux, which fully adhering to Debian development standards.

Fedora is supported by RedHat, the world's second-largest Linux kernel contributor. Because it's developed by the same individuals who work extensively on the Kernel and know its ins and outs, using a RedHat distribution guarantees, it will be fine-tuned to function as efficiently as possible.
