Kiara Advani is the daughter of businessman Jagdeep Advani and teacher Genevieve Jaffrey. She is an Indian film actress born to the couple Jagdeep Advani and Genevieve Jaffrey. Mishaal is her younger brother. Her father's ancestors are of Sindhi ethnicity, whereas her mother is of mixed Muslim and British heritage.

After seeing the 2009 film 3 Idiots, Kiara's father decided to enable his children to pursue a profession in whatever they were passionate about, according to Kiara's mother. In addition to being Ashok Kumar's great-grandchild, she's also Saeed Jaffrey's great-grandniece. The actress Juhi Chawla's niece, Shaheen Jaffrey, is also related to her via their respective families.
