Kilobit

A Kb is the unit symbol of kilobit, which is a multiple of unit bits. This unit is used for measuring the amount of data. In short, kilobit is also called kbit.
In the word kilobit, kilo denotes the 1000 or third power of 10, which means 103.
1 kilobit is equivalent to 103 or 1000 bits.
It is used for measuring the data rates in the digital communication circuits. Kilobit is that unit, which is larger than bit (b) and byte (B) and smaller than the unit megabit (Mb). It is also used in measuring the internet speed.

Difference between Kilobit and Kilobyte

Kilobit is a unit which is smaller than the kilobyte. Kilobit is usually used in measuring the data rates, while kilobyte is used to measure the size of files. The Kb is a symbol of kilobit, whereas KB is a symbol of kilobyte.
1 kilobyte = 8 kilobits.
