Kota University

Kota University is spread across Bundi, Karauli, Jhalawar, Kota, Baran, and Sawai Madhopur. It is a well-established university in the state of Rajasthan, and 175 + colleges are affiliated with the University. The University came into existence with the enactment of a state legislative act called the University of Kota Act, 2003. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Prof. B.L. Verma. The University Grants Commission well recognizes Kota University. The University provides UG (Undergraduate) and P.G. (postgraduate) courses to the students. The faculties of the University are Law, Education, Commerce, Social Sciences, Arts, Science, and Management.

The University has signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with several national and international parties for research and development in several disciplines. For example, DCM Sri Ram Consolidated Limited, Kota, Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research, and Linkoping University, Sweden. The University has sent a proposal to the UGC to develop a rainwater system, girls' hostel, dispensary, Central Library, Sports Complex, sewerage line, boys and girl hostels, and computer science on the campus.

Some of the widely famous courses offered by the University are B.Pharma, MBA, M.P.Ed, MBA, and M.Sc.

University holds an entrance exam for the admission of students into the college other than M.P.Ed. Students are admitted to courses like B.Pharma and Bsc based on the score in class 10+2 board level examination. Appearing candidates have to attain minimum marks to get admission into the U.G. and P.G. courses. Some relaxation of 5% is provided to students coming from S.C. (Scheduled Caste), S.T. (Scheduled Tribes), OBC (Other Backward Caste), SOBC, and P.H. backgrounds.
