The University came into existence with the enactment of a state legislative act called the University of Kota Act, 2003. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Prof. B.L. Verma. The faculties of the University are Law, Education, Commerce, Social Sciences, Arts, Science, and Management. Some of the widely famous courses offered by the University are B.Pharma, MBA, M.P.Ed, MBA, and M.Sc. University holds an entrance exam for the admission of students into the college other than M.P.Ed. Students are admitted to courses like B.Pharma and Bsc based on the score in class 10+2 board level examination. Appearing candidates have to attain minimum marks to get admission into the U.G. and P.G. courses. Some relaxation of 5% is provided to students coming from S.C. (Scheduled Caste), S.T.
