The student gets admission on the basis of 12th marks along with entrance exam marks in their preferred institute and course. The details of the entrance exams to be given after 12th are given below.

1. JEE Main

JEE Main stands for "Joint Entrance Examination Main ". This exam is an entrance exam for B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning. Paper 1 and paper 2 are two papers of JEE Main. The paper 1 is an entrance exam for B.E./B.Tech and paper 2 is an entrance exam for B.Arch/B.Planning. The JEE Main is organized by the National Testing Agency.

Details of JEE Main Paper 1:

  • Paper 1 is conducted in online mode (Computed Based Test).
  • 180 minutes are given to the student to finish paper 1.
  • Paper 1 is conducted four times a year.
  • Physics, mathematics, and chemistry subject knowledge/skills are tested in this paper 1.
  • Paper 1 is for 300 marks.
  • There are 90 questions in paper 1. Students have to answer 75 questions.
  • The paper has a negative marking scheme.

Details of JEE Main Paper 2:

  • 240 minutes are given to the student to finish paper 2.
  • Paper 2 is conducted twice a year.
  • Drawing, mathematics, and aptitude subjects knowledge/skills are tested in this paper 2.
  • Paper 2 is for 400 marks.
  • Paper 2 is an entrance exam for B.Arch and B.Planning.
  • Paper 2 for B.Arch: There are 82 questions in paper 2. Students have to answer 77 questions. Section 1 and 2 of the paper are conducted online, and section 3 is conducted offline.
  • Paper 2 for B.Planning: There are 105 questions in paper 2. Students have to answer 100 questions. Paper is conducted in online mode.

2. JEE Advanced

The student has 180 minutes to complete paper 1, and 180 minutes are given to finish paper 2. The exam is taken entirely online. 141,699 students appeared for the exam in 2021, and 41,862 students qualified the exam. The qualification rate for the exam is 29.1 %. The purpose of this exam is to gain admission to an IIT institute.

3. VITEEE

90 minutes are given to the student to finish the paper. The exam is of 80 marks. There are 80 questions in the paper. One thousand two hundred fifty rupees is the registration fee for the exam.

5. BIT SAT

  • For a female candidate, the exam application cost is 2900 rupees.
  • For male candidates, the exam application cost is 3400 rupees.
  • The exam application cost is 7000 rupees for Dubai candidates.

The marking scheme for BIT SAT is +3 marks for the correct answer and -1 mark for the wrong answer.

6. NEET

7. CLAT

8. IPU CET

Exam patterns

(i) BBA Exam pattern:

There are 100 questions in the paper. There are four sections in the paper that are logical reasoning section, the general awareness section, the English section, and the management aptitude section.

(ii) B.Com Exam Pattern:

There are 150 questions in the paper. There are four sections in the paper that are logical reasoning section, the G.A. section, management aptitude section and the language comprehension section.

(iii) L.E. - B.Tech Exam Pattern:

There are 100 questions in the paper. The paper is divided into five sections that are applied mechanics, computer awareness, fundamentals of mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, and fundamentals of electrical engineering & electronics.

9. KEAM

KEAM stands for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Exam. The exam is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Exam, Kerala, and this is an entrance exam to take admission to engineer, pharmacy, and architecture courses in Kerala. KEAM exam contains two papers that are paper 1 and paper 2. The exam is taken entirely online.

Paper 1 details:

Physics/chemistry subject's knowledge/skills are tested in paper 1. 150 minutes are allocated for paper 1, and there are 120 questions in the paper. Paper 1 is for 480 marks.

Paper 2 details:

Mathematics subject knowledge/skills are tested in paper 2. 150 minutes are allocated for paper 2, and there are 120 questions in the paper. Paper 2 is for 480 marks.

Application fees:

  • The application fee for the KEAM exam is 700 rupees for the general and OBC categories to apply for engineering only / B.Pharma only / both courses, and for the S.C. category, it is 300 rupees.
  • The application fees for the KEAM exam are 500 rupees for the general and OBC categories to apply for Architecture only/Medical & Allied only/ both courses, and for the S.C. category, it is 200 rupees.

10. NATA

NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture. The exam is organized by the Council of Architecture, and this is an entrance exam to take admission to B.Arch. The exam is taken entirely online. The student has 3 hours to complete the paper. The exam is for 200 marks. The paper contains 125 questions.

11. WBJEE

WBJEE stands for West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam. The exam is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board, and this is an entrance exam for taking admission to B.Tech in institutes of West Bengal. The test is held once a year. Categories

The paper is split into three categories.

Category 1:

  • There can only be one correct answer from multiple options.
  • One mark for the right answer.
  • - ¼ mark for the incorrect answer.

Category 2:

  • There can only be one correct answer from multiple options.
  • Two marks for the right answer.
  • - ½ mark for the incorrect answer.

Category 3:

  • For a given question, one or more choices may be right.
  • Two marks for the correct answer.

About questions

Chemistry:

In category 1, there are 30 questions for 1 mark; in category 2, there are 5 questions for 2 marks; and in category 3 also, there are 5 questions for 2 marks.

Mathematics:

In category 1, there are 50 questions for 1 mark; in category 2, there are 15 questions for 2 marks; and in category 3, there are 5 questions for 2 marks.

Physics:

In category 1, there are 30 questions for 1 mark; in category 2, there are 5 questions for 2 marks; and in category 3 also, there are 5 questions for 2 marks.

12. HP CET

HP CET stands for Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test. The exam is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University, and this is an entrance exam to take admission to Himachal Pradesh's institute for MSc, BHMCT, MPharm, B.Tech, BPharm, MBA, BCA, and M.tech.

180 minutes are given to students to finish the paper. The test is held once a year. The exam is for 300 marks. There are 150 questions in the paper. The marking scheme for HP CET is + 2 marks for the correct answer and - 0.5 marks for the wrong answer. Application fees:

  • The application cost for both the general and OBC categories is 1000 rupees.
  • Seven hundred fifty rupees is the application fee for the Gen-EWS category.
