Whether it is a garden of fruits or the market of fruits, we can't stop without purchasing some of them after seeing different kinds of fruits. Mango is considered the king of fruits as well as it is the national fruit of our country. After seeing a ripe and yellow mango, everyone becomes crazy especially small kids as it is one of the favorite fruits of all.
Now the question arises what is fruit?
Fruits are the part of a plant developed from the flower. It is either pulpy or dry. Fruits contain the seeds of a plant. Normally fruits are sweet in taste except the citrus fruit, which is sour. However, some citrus fruit becomes sweet after ripping.

Division of fruits on the basis of terms
We can divide fruits on two bases i) botanical terms ii) culinary terms.
All plants products that contain seeds come under this category. Therefore technically, tomatoes, cucumber, eggplant, peas, etc., come in the category of fruit.
All that plant products that are sour, sweet, and contain seeds comes under this category. The culinary fruits are widely accepted as the main fruits.
Types of culinary fruits
There are mainly six types of culinary fruits, which are as follows:
Drupes are hard pulpy fruits that contain one seed in their center, like peaches, cherries, plums, and apricots. These are the sources of high vitamins, minerals, and fiber. In dry fruits, it includes almonds, walnut, coconut, cashew, dates, and all kind of nuts. Cherries fruits are a rich source of vitamin C. They also came in the category of antioxidants.
Berries are generally small-sized soft and juicy fruits. It is sweet and sour in taste, like cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc.
These fruits have harder pulp than berries. It contains seeds in its core like; apple, pear, etc.
Citrus fruits are also pulpy and juicy fruits. It is also sweet and sour in taste. For example, orange, lemon, kiwi, etc.
These are mainly the melons fruits that contained a lot of seeds either in the core or center of the fruit or in whole fruit. For example, watermelon, muskmelon, etc.
Tropical fruits include a large variety of fruits. For example, mango, papaya, banana, pineapple, guava, etc.

Gradually its cultivation spread and was started by several countries of Europe like England, Spain, etc. In India, it was brought by the Portuguese in the 16th century but and its cultivation started by the Britishers in the 18th century. Now in consumption of tomato Greece is at first place with 57 million tons in a year. Its total production in the world is 182 million metric tons. In cultivation, china is at 1st rank with 1000000 tons. If we talk about its nutritional value, then it is a great source of Vitamin C, K, Potassium, and Foliate. In use, it is unbeatable and incomparable as every dish without it is incomplete. In cooking, it is used for almost all veg curry. It is very popular as a salad. Even in fast food like pizza and burgers, it is one of the essential things. It is used for making various kinds of chutney and sauces. So overall, it is one of the most popular, essential, and cultivated food in the world.
In ranking banana came at second place. It is considered that banana is the first fruit as well as the first food cultivated by man in the world. And it was originated 10000 years ago. First, it was grown by Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, and Guinea, etc. Its total cultivation in the world is 115.74 million metric tons. And in India, its cultivation is 30 million tons in a year. If we see its nutritional value, then it is loaded with several vitamins that prevent us from several diseases. It is a source of vitamin C. Its potassium is good for the heart, and magnesium is good for the skin as well as for the brain. Earlier it was cultivated by Asian and European countries and later introduced in North America by the European colonist. If we talk about its nutritional value, it is full of Vitamin C. It is good for our immune system as well as for our heart, lungs, bone, brain, etc. Its total production in the world is 86.14 million metric tons, and China is the leading country in its production, with 45 million tons in a year. Oranges were first cultivated in Southeast China. It is a rich source of Vitamin C as well as an immunity booster. It helps us keep good health in many ways as it protects us from vision loss as well as protects our cells from being damaged. It keeps our skin healthy. We can take it in many ways like; raw, cooked, powder but orange juice is very popular and favorite of most of the people. Its total production in the world is 75.54 million metric tons. Now Brazil is the leading country in the cultivation of oranges with 15 million metric tons.
The total production of guava in the world is 55 million tons. India is the leading country in the production of guava with 45%of total production in the world, followed by China at second and Thailand at third. It was first cultivated in Central and South America. It is a great source of vitamins like; A, C, E, Potassium, and fiber. It is also full of antioxidants. Guava is good for health in many aspects like; good for heart, reduce cholesterol, increase hemoglobin, decrease sugar level, good for skin and digestive system, increase immunity, etc. we can also use it in several ways like; raw, juice, cooked, dried as well as powder. But presently, China is the leading country in the production of pears, with 16 million metric tons in a year. Argentina is in second place in the production of pears with 930340 tons per year. The pear was originated in southeast Europe. It was the favorite fruit of Greek and Romans as they called it the 'Gift of God'. Pear is rich in antioxidants, mostly phytonutrients.
