The full form of MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery. In Latin word MBBS is Medicinae Baccalaureus Chirurgiae. This course is provided and conducted by MCI (Medical Council of India). It is a professional degree course for Medical Science students.

MBBS is the Undergraduate Degree Course in which the student can complete this course within 5.5 years only. In these 5.5 years, 4.5 years is for the academic session and one year is for the internship. MBBS is the most popular degree designated for the degree of doctor. About MBBS Entrance Exam for the Indian Institutions

For taking the admission to MBBS course in India the students have to appear in one important exam i.e. (NEET) National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This is the only exam or test for the students who want to do the MBBS course from any university or any college. This test is accepted by both the types of institutions or the colleges i.e., Government institutions and Private institutions. There are two other exams by which the students can take the admissions for the MBBS course that is JIPMER MBBS Exam and AIIMS MBBS Exam. However, these exams are not existing as of now for MBBS students because these exams were scrapped in 2019 for increasing the importance of the NEET exam and making it the most important medical entrance test in India.

Exams required to study MBBS abroad

In 2019, an order was passed by the (MCI) Medical Council of India that NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam is compulsory for all the students who want to do the MBBS course from abroad. If the candidate is going to give this exam, then the students must know about the general guidelines i.e., the candidate's highest limit for appearing in NEET is 25 Years for only the General candidates and 30 years for the SC/ST/OBC candidates. The NEET score is valid only for the 3 years after that you have to appear again in the same entrance exam. Another test that is required for those students who want to study abroad i.e., an English proficiency test to know that how much the student knows the English language. This English proficiency test is very important for all Indian students. Many English tests differ from the English language requirements of different universities. The candidates can opt for any of these (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, OET) courses to clear their English proficiency test.

Eligibility criteria of Abroad and Indian Universities for MBBS?

In the world, each country is having its own rules and regulation or eligibility criteria for those international candidates who want to go for an MBBS course. So, there are a few and important eligibility criteria for the candidates i.e., Age Requirements, Academic Requirements, Medical Requirements.

i) Age Requirements: The students must be having a minimum of 17years of age while taking the admission in MBBS course from abroad. There is no maximum age limit for taking admission but in India, the maximum age limit is 25.

ii) Academic Requirements: There are major and important academic requirements that are needed to fulfill by every candidate who is interested in taking admission abroad.

  • The candidates must have completed their 10th&12th from any authorized board.
  • The candidates must have at least a total of 50% marks in 10th&12th with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and English. (40% marks is compulsory in case of reserved category)
  • There is one test which the students need to qualify for taking admission which is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (NEET) without qualifying for this exam no students are eligible to peruse the MBBS.
  • The students are also required to fulfill the eligibility criteria that are issued by the Medical Council of India while taking admission to Foreign Medical Universities or in the Indian universities.

iii) Medical Requirements: The candidate needs to submit their medical certificates while perusing the admission in abroad universities and in Indian universities. In that certificate, it should be mentioned that you are not suffering from any diseases.
