MBBS stands for bachelor of medicine and bachelor of Surgery. MBBS is one of the most renowned courses a student can pursue in India. MBBS is pursued by students who aspire to become doctors in the future.

  • To get admission in Pondicherry, the student has to clear JIPMER and to gain access to AIIMS, they have to clear the AIIMS Delhi entrance exam.
  • Earlier, private universities used to conduct their entrance exams but after the order of the Supreme Court, a common entrance exam, NEET, came into existence in place of all the private universities' entrance exams.

Admission Procedure

  • After qualifying for the NEET exam, the student must go for counselling by examination authorities. Through counselling procedure only, the students will get to know which college they have got, private or government and this is decided according to the rank and marks achieved by the students.
  • About 100000 medical seats are available in India, but there is tough competition to reserve your seat. Around 1500000 students apply for the seats.
