PHP array_diff_key() function

This is an inbuilt function of PHP. This function was introduced in PHP 5.1. The array_diff_key() function compares the keys of two or more arrays, and returns entries from array1 that are not present in array2 or array3, etc.

Syntax

Parameter	Description	Is compulsory
array1	The array to compare from	compulsory
array2	An array to compare against	compulsory
array3	More arrays to compare against	Optional

Return Type

Returns an array containing the entries from array1 that are not present in any of the other arrays.

Example 1

<?php
$bank1=array("Sbi","Pnb","Axis","Boi");
$bank2=array("Sbi","Pnb","Axis");
$comp=array_diff_key($bank1,$bank2);
print_r($comp);
?>

Output:

Array ( [3]=> Boi )

Example 2

<?php
$cric1 = array("10"=>"Sachin", "20"=>"Laxman", "30"=>"Rahul", 
                            "40"=>"Ganguly", "50"=>"Yuvi");
$cric2 = array("10"=>"Sachin", "70"=>"Laxman", 
                "30"=>"Ganguly", "80"=>"Rohit");
$cric3 = array("30"=>"Sachin", "80"=>"Rohit");
print_r(array_diff_assoc($cric1, $cric2, $cric3) );
?>

Output:

Array(  [20] => Laxman   [30] => Rahul [40] => Ganguly [50] => Yuvi )

Example 3

<?php
$a1=array("a"=>"Ashish","b"=>"Bed","c"=>"Cat");
$a2=array("a"=>"Ashish","c"=>"Cat","d"=>"Dog","j"=>"phptpoint");
print_r(array_diff_key($a1,$a2) );
?>

Output:

Array ( [b] => Bed )

Example 4

<?php
	$color1= array ( "a1"=> "red" , "b2"=> "green" , "c3"=> "blue" , "d4"=> "black" );
	$color2= array ("d1"=> "red" , "b2"=> "blue" , "a3"=> "green" );
	print_r(array_diff_key($color1,$color2) );
?>

Output:

Array ( [a1]=> red  [c3]=> blue  [d4]=> black )
