What is the full form of RSS
i) RSS: Really Simple Syndication
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is also known as Rich Site Summary. It is a standard for the syndication of web content and used to distribute the web contents like news feeds headlines, event summary and forum updates in XML based format.
The basic idea of RSS was developed in early 1995 when Ramanathan V. Guha and others in Apple Computer's Advanced Technology Group developed the Meta Content Framework.
How it works
RSS syndicates web content automatically to provide benefits for both publishers and readers. It facilitates a reader to subscribe their favorite website and read the updates without again going to the website.
ii) RSS: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a "National Volunteer Organization" or "National Patriotic Organization". It is a right-wing, charitable, educational, Hindu nationalists, Non-Governmental and world largest voluntary non-governmental organization.
RSS states that the ideology of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is based on the principle of selfless service to India.
RSS was founded on Vijayadasami on 27 September 1925. Its main motive was to establish a social organization which provides character training through Hindu discipline and to unite the Hindu community.
Sometimes, it has been criticized as an extremist organization and as a paramilitary group. It has also been criticized when its member participated in anti-Muslim violence. It was banned during the British rule and three times after independence. First time, it is banned in 1948 when a former RSS member Nathu Ram Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi, second time during the emergency (1975-77) and third time after the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992.
