TAFE: Tractors and Farm Equipment
TAFE stands for Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited. It is an Indian tractor major which is established at Chennai in 1960. It is second largest tractor manufacturer in India and the third-largest tractor manufacturer in the world by volumes. It accounts for about 25% market share of the Indian tractor industry. TAFE sells more than 150,000 tractors annually and is present in more than 100 countries. Shri. S. Anantharamakrishnan is the founding chairman of TAFE and as of October 2017, Malika Srinivasan is the Chairman and CEO of TAFE.
TAFE has earned the trust and respect of customers through its wide range of quality products. Its distribution network which comprises more than 1000 dealers effectively manages its iconic tractor brands, Massey Ferguson, TAFE and Eicher. It holds significant shares in the AGCO Corporation, USA. It exports tractors in partnership with AGCO as well as independently in over 100 countries.
In addition to tractors, TAFE also manufactures a wide range of equipment in different categories such as farm-machinery, Diesel engines and gensets, engineering plastics, gears, batteries, hydraulic pumps and cylinders etc. Its R&D facilities are known for the unique designs and engineering expertise and are recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India.
