TISCO: Tata Iron and Steel Company

TISCO stands for Tata Iron and Steel Company, and it is also known as Tata Steel since 2005. Tata Steel, one of the leading firms in the steel industry, was established in the year 1907 and was Asia's first integrated steel plant. Currently, TISCO is the world's second most geographically diverse steel producing company and one of the world's largest steel producing firms, with an annual crude steel production capacity of around 29 million tonnes per year and years of steelmaking experience. TISCO Full Form

On August 26, 1907, Sir Dorabji Tata founded the Tata Iron and Steel Company. As a branch of Jamsetji's Tata Group, Tata Steel began its pig iron production (iron ore smelting) in 1911 and steel production around 1912. Tata Steel is a privately owned company located in Mumbai. The Tata Steel Group employs nearly 74,000 people across five continents. The company produces steel and mainly serves customers in the automobile industries, building, consumer products, technology, packaging, lifting and digging, power generation and aerospace industries.
