Chandauli is a well-known district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a small town that has many beautiful and amazing places that visitors often visit. The distance between the city Varanasi and Chandauli is around 50 KM.

If one is traveling by train then one has to reach Varanasi first to reach Chandauli, as Chandauli city still needs its railway station. Besides, if you are traveling by airplane, then the nearest airport to Chandauli town is Varanasi airport only. After reaching Varanasi, you can take an auto, taxi, or any bus to reach Chandauli and traveling will be easy. However, there is a local station that Chandauli has named Chandauli Majhwar Railway Station, but to reach there, you will need to board a train from the nearest station named Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.

The speed of the water falling from the Rajdari Waterfall is also faster than the Devdari Waterfall. Devdari waterfall is located 2 km from the Rajdari waterfall, and it is on the right side of it. If you are visiting this Dam, then you can also plan for the Rajdari and Devdari waterfalls as well. The location of this Dam is to the left side of these two waterfalls. There is one more name for this Dam by which it is commonly known, i.e., Wat Land Dam.

The river on which this Dam is built is the Chandraprabha River. On the back side of the Dam, there are some green mountains. This view of the back side of the Dam is really breathtaking. However, the front area of the Dam is the main part of the Dam.

There are also stairs on both sides of the Dam, which the tourists may use to go down the Dam. The best time to visit this Dam is from June to September, during the Monsoon. Also, there is no need to pay entry fees or parking fees for your vehicles as it is a totally free tourist spot.

3. Chandraprabha Mountains

Chandauli district is surrounded by a beautiful mountain called Chandrprabha Mountains. These mountains offer a view full of greenery, making it look more beautiful. 9. Baba Kinaram Sacred Place

The next place which is visited by many tourists a whole year is the birthplace of a very famous baba (an aghori ascetic) named Baba Kinaram (also spelled as Baba Keenaram). People visit this place to seek the blessings of Baba.

Baba Kinaram Ji was born around 1600 in Ramgarh, Chandauli, Varanasi, to a poor Kshatriya family. His mother, Mansa Devi, hadn't had children until she had a special dream one night. Soon after, she gave birth to her first child. Three wise sadhus visited Akbar Singh, his father, to congratulate him on this joyful occasion. The eldest among them blessed the child, whispering sacred Mantras in his ear.

According to astrology, it was foreseen that the child would have a long and prosperous life if another family symbolically adopted him. So, he was temporarily given to a neighbor who later sold him back to his parents for a small amount of gold. This is why he was named Kina, though his real name was Rashi, which is one of the names of Lord Shiva in Vaishnava texts.

Accommodation in Chandauli

Accommodation in Chandauli district could be better, as hotels and room service giants like OYO Hotels are available in very limited numbers. Also, these hotels and rooms are not at all available in the hilly region of Chandauli but are available in the main city of Chandauli.

One of the major drawbacks of this tourist place is that there are also no gas or fuel stations available in the hilly tourist sites as they are in a very remote area. You will also not be able to use internet services at those sites because jammers are placed all over these areas as it is said to be in Naxalite areas. It is advised to the tourists to get their vehicle's tank full from the main city, Chandauli, or from Varanasi.

Also, in terms of accommodation, staying in the nearest major city, Varanasi, is much better than staying in Chandauli district. As Varanasi is just 60 Km away from the Chandauli district, it is convenient to go to Chandauli and come down on the same day.

Travel Precautions

The main information that should be noticed by any tourist while traveling to Chandauli is that Chandauli is a Naxalite area, and one should avoid solo traveling as it can be dangerous, especially in the region of Chandraprabha hill station. If you are a female, then you should only do solo traveling in the city parts of the Chandauli district. Exploring this place with a group of friends or family is obviously a good idea, and it is safe.

It is not prohibited for travelers to go camping in the mountains of Chandauli, but it is not advisable as it can be risky. Those planning to camp there must do so at their own risk.

Due to safety concerns, local police often patrol there all the time, which is a good sign, and unfortunately, if you get into trouble, you can reach out to them, or they will come to you if possible. There is also a police station available near the Rajdari and Devdari waterfalls, and the police personnel are also very helpful and humble.
