Tourist Places in Nagaur

1. Nagaur Fort

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Nagaur is the Nagaur Fort. It is a stunning stronghold constructed from sand that dates back to the second century. Many battles have been fought at this fort in earlier times. This is Rajasthan's best flatland fort, renowned for its expansive campus and tall walls. Within the fort, visitors can see numerous palaces, gardens, fountains, and temples. The Nagavanshis built this fort, and Mohammed Bahlim renovated it after that.

2. Tarkeen Dargah

A significant religious site, Tarkeen Dargah, is situated in Rajasthan's Nagaur city. Muslims consider this shrine to be second in importance after the Ajmer-e-Sharif Dargah and to have great religious value. In honor of Khwaja Hamiduddin Nagauri, the Tarkeen Dargah was built.

3. Jain Temple In Glass

In Nagaur, behind the Kamla Tower, is the Jain Glass Temple. Among all the Jain temples, this one is special since the entire structure is constructed of glass. The shrine features exquisite enamel artwork on its doors, pillars, panels, floors, and ceilings. The temple's aesthetically pleasing glass sculptures, which take the shape of the Jain scriptures, are visible to visitors. The temple's interior is decorated with exquisite marble sculptures and decorative arches.

4. Saiji ka Tanka

One of the most visited tourist destinations in Nagaur is Saiji ka Tanka. It is well-known for the saint Shri Saiji Maharaj's Samadhi. The people here say that this saint prayed to the Lord silently for his entire life. Because of this, the Thakurs, a Rajput tribe, requested him to settle here to drive out any evil spirits. Many devotees come here to offer their prayers to the saint on a regular basis.

5. Hadi Rani Mahal

Hadi Rani Mahal is among Nagaur, Rajasthan's most exquisitely furnished palaces. Scriptures and old carvings cover the palace's walls and ceilings. Within the palace, visitors can also view an exquisite assortment of fresco paintings. Most of the mural paintings show Queen Hadi Rani with an enormous attendant. It is said that the queens of the Nagaur rulers resided in this palace. Within the fort, tourists can see magnificent royal swimming pools.

6. Khinvsar Fort

The distance between Nagaur and Khinvsar Fort is 42 km. This 500-year-old fort is in the middle of the Thar Desert and has been transformed into a hotel, including contemporary facilities. Herds of black deer are a well-known tourist attraction in Khinvsar town.

7. Harsolav

This village is believed to be hundreds of years old. It has several noteworthy sights, including a medieval fort, a Ganesh temple, a Jain Mandir, and a Ramchandra Gurjar cenotaph. There are exquisite stone sculptures all over the structure. The village is situated in the Merta tehsil of Nagaur, on the Gothan-Jodhpur highway.

8. Son Nagar

Son Nagar is a well-liked site for foreign visitors who like to experience the desert lifestyle. It is situated on the district's northwest edge. Rajasthani lifestyle artifacts are collected and exhibited at a small museum located in the village. In addition, this hamlet is well-known for producing beautiful "Kathi" saddles for horses and camels.

9. Jhorda

Jhorda is about 30 kilometers to the north of Nagaur. Famous Saint Baba Hariram and poet Kandan Kalpit both come from this place. A sizable annual fair is held here in the months of Bhadrapad Chaturthi and Panchmi each year, drawing attendees from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Punjab.

10. Kkarnal

From Nagaur, it is around fifteen kilometers. It is the location of birth of Lok Devta Veer Tejaji. According to popular belief, Kharnal was constructed by Dhawal Khichi. It is said that Dhawal Khichi is the father of Veer Tejaji.

11. Ren

Ren settlement is in Merta Tehsil, Nagaur. It is fifteen kilometers from Merta City. Here is a famous Ram Sanehi Peeth located. It is reported that "tapsaya" was performed here by Adi Acharaya Daryavji of the Ram Sanehi Community. Huge fairs are conducted annually under the full moon of Chaitra.

12. Kurki

Kurki is a little community in Merta Tehsil, Nagaur. It is the birthplace of the renowned princess and poetess Meera Bai, and it is about thirty kilometers from Merta.

13. Mundiyad

From Nagaur, Mundiyad is around twenty-five kilometers away. Mundra Maheshwari is said to have founded this centuries-old settlement, that's why it is called Mundiyad. This site contains an ancient Mataji temple together with medieval Jagirdar and Charan cenotaphs. Additionally, there is a small but well-known Ganesh shrine in the area.
