When does the Windows 7 support end?

Microsoft has ended the support for Windows 7 since January 14, 2020. Now, you won't find any technical assistance from the company. Microsoft has withdrawn all facilities of software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC. These facilities are no longer available for Windows 7.

Windows 7 was released by Microsoft on October 22, 2009. Then, Microsoft promised and committed that the company will provide support for ten years for the product. The 10-year period has now ended, and Microsoft has discontinued the Windows 7 support to focus on trending technologies and investment in supporting newer technologies to provide great new experiences to the Windows users.

What should Windows 7 users do?

Microsoft has recommended all Windows 7 users to move to Windows 10. They are providing a free upgrading facility for all Windows 7 users to Windows 10 operating system so that you won't face any problem because any type of service or support is no longer available for Windows 7.

What does end of support mean?

The end of support for Windows 7 means that if you are running Windows 7 operating system on your PC, then you won't receive any security updates after January 14, 2020. Therefore, you should upgrade to the latest operating system, Windows 10, to get the latest security updates and keep your PC and data safer. To upgrade to Windows 10 is also important because Microsoft customer service is no longer available to provide any technical support for Windows 7.

The end of support for Windows 7 doesn't mean that if you are using a Windows 7 PC, then your PC will suddenly stop working. It simply means that if you are using a Windows 7 PC, then you should upgrade to Windows 10 or a Linux alternative.
