There are two ways to download music in the YouTube music app. The first one is a smart download. This feature downloads the music automatically for you. It is based on your music history. To turn on this option, you may follow the steps given under:

The first step is to click on your profile photo given on the top right corner of the display.

Now, click on the settings icon visible at the top of the tab.
Drag below and turn on the feature of Smart Download.

The second way to download songs by using the YouTube music app is by selecting the specific album, playlist, or song. For this purpose, take the following steps:

The first step to download the music from the YouTube music app is to install the app from Play Store.
Open the app and search your favorite song, album, or playlist.
At the top of the tab, next to the album art, a down arrow icon will be given. This icon is present near the three vertical dots just below the name of the playlist.

The app is available only in the F-Droid software repository (GitHub) and can be enjoyed by android users only. NewPipe is the best substitute for the official YouTube app. You can go through the following steps to download the YouTube songs by using a Sideloading app:

Firstly, search NewPipe on Google Chrome.
Open the official site of the app, i.e., net.
