What is the full form of IIIT

(i) IIIT: Indian Institute of Information Technology

IIIT stands for Indian Institute of Information Technology. A group of higher education institutions in India with an information technology focus is known as the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). They are supervised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and formed and sponsored by the federal government. About twenty-five transdisciplinary technology-based engineering research institutions in India that are focused on information technology combined make up the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Five of them were developed, funded and supervised by the Ministry of Education (MoE). The federal government, state governments, and industry partners organize or manage the fund for the remaining 20 projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) model in the amount distribution of 50:35:15.

Formation

The Indian Institutes of Information Technology Bill was presented to the Lok Sabha in 2014. The four IIITs were to get the designation of Institutes of National Importance (INI) under the proposed legislation. The Parliament passed the bill on December 1, 2014, published on December 8, 2014, as the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Act, 2014, taking effect on January 5, 2015.

As part of the requirement of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, the MHRD established the fifth Institute at Kurnool in 2015. The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2017, granted recognition to the Kurnool Institute of Technology. The establishment of IIIT Agartala, delayed since 2012, received approval from the Tripura government for 50.67 crores (US$6.3 million) in 2018, making up for the 5.82 crores (US$730,000) that were lacking from private sources under the PPP model. The university was scheduled to begin operations at the NIT Agartala campus during the 2018-2019 academic year.

An IIIT in Raichur, Karnataka, received preliminary clearance from the federal government in 2016. The Raichur Institute was supposed to legally replace the Kakinada Institute, according to the MHRD, which requested property from the state government for the Institute in 2018 with plans to operate in the following years. However, the MHRD decided to relocate the IIIT to Hyderabad, Telangana, in 2019, as the site was not bought.

(ii) IIIT: International Institute of Islamic Thought

IIIT stands for International Institute of Islamic Thought. In order to provide Muslim thinkers, scholars, and practitioners in the humanities and social sciences with a platform for their unique ideas, the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) is the foremost international organization. For 40 years, IIIT has advocated for diversity, and modernization in Islamic philosophy, placing special emphasis on ideas like coexistence and enhancing community capacity to deal with shared local and global issues. Today, IIIT is a champion of scholarship, knowledge, and learning in Muslim countries around the globe, as well as the voice of the Muslim intellectual tradition in the west.

As a non-denominational U.S. non-profit organization, IIIT was founded in 1981. Its headquarters are located in Herndon, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. It is well-known as the vision of developing societies where people can pursue and reach their most significant potential via transformative learning, societal advancement, and personal development.

Mission

According to IIIT, educator research should be conducted and disseminated so Muslim societies can benefit from data-driven recommendations for reforming educational policy and practice.

Goals

• Conduct research that is supported by the evidence to improve education in Muslim societies.
• Disseminate research through strategic engagements, education, publication & translation, and policy recommendations.
• Examine pedagogy, governance, policy, curriculum, and effect evaluation as they relate to education.
• Conduct theoretical studies to reaffirm the contribution of Islamic thinking to the advancement of education in Muslim communities.

(iii) IIIT: Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology

IIIT also stands for Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology. It is located in Delhi and hence is also known as Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIITD). It was created by a law passed by the Delhi legislature, and it now has the power to conduct research and development, manage educational programmes, and confer degrees. The Board of Governors is the body of the institution responsible for policy-making, while the General Council, which is headed by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, is its apex body. However, the Senate must be involved in all academic decisions.

The IIIT-Delhi has shown itself to be continually sensitive to the changing requirements of society and is moving quickly toward being one of India's top comprehensive research-led teaching institutions. Many faculty members of IIIT-Delhi are internationally renowned and among the best in the country. The IIIT-institutional Delhi has an established culture of innovative research over time.
