Eligibility

Indian citizens who wish to pursue graduate studies through a distance learning program or a correspondence course at any university are not eligible to apply for the KVPY Fellowships. When a student is chosen to be a provisional KVPY fellow, they must present a study certificate from class XI after obtaining a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) (B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., International M.Sc., or International M.S.) in the academic year 2023-2024. They will be invited to the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp during the interim period of one year after receiving at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the XI.

Students enrolled in the Cambridge International Examination Board's second-year program who want to enrol in the Basic Sciences undergraduate program (B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., International M.Sc., or International M.S.) in the academic year 2021-2022 and earned a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) overall marks in the first year of B.Sc., B.S., B.M will be offered a specific number of additional fellowships under the different streams mentioned above that are only for students from the SC/ST community. Fellowship Renewal/Continuation

The Fellow must maintain first-class standing or 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) overall marks or equivalent grade points while continuing to take Basic Science courses in high school, junior college, or university. The student must also earn the required percentage of marks and complete all prerequisite courses for that specific academic year (two semesters in the event of a semester system). The Dean or Head of the Institution must certify the grades or marks for the coursework for each academic year. The fellowship will be terminated unless the marks mentioned earlier or grades are acquired. The fellowship can only be renewed from that year onwards, again with the requirement that the Fellow must receive 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate each year if the fellow passes all of the subjects and earns more than 60% ((50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in the following years. This will take effect for recipients of 2012 awards. The KVPY fellowship is available to the student through the pre-PhD level or for five years, whichever comes first.

Additionally, participation and satisfactory performance in the first year's Summer Camp and subsequent years summer projects are prerequisites for the fellowship to be renewed.

Rewards

The KVPY Exam-qualified candidates are eligible for the fellowship. From their first year of graduation onward, the students are given a fellowship in science field. The KVPY fellows receive a monthly fellowship of $5,000 from their first to the third year of study toward a B.Sc., B.Stat., B.S., B.Maths., or integrated M.S./M.Sc., as well as a $20,000 annual contingency award.   • Each centre will have a sign displaying the room numbers where the test will be administered.
