What Keyboard Key Can You Press to Print?

In most keyboards, no single key enables the user to print the current page. In some multimedia keyboards, the user can have a print key that allows to print using a single key. You can use the Ctrl + P keys, which will redirect you to the print window in Windows OS. In Mac OS, you can use the Command + P shortcut.

Using the Prt Sc or Print Screen key to Print

Some software may have a function that allows the user to use Print Screen to print the current page. However, most programs use the key to capture screenshots.

Steps to print the screen using Prt Sc is as follows:

1. Open the application and go to the file that you wish to print. The user can use the shortcut to print the document, image or screenshot.
2. If you want to capture a snapshot of the whole screen, the user may use the Prt Sc key on the keyboard to capture the screenshot and then print the whole or a specific part of the screen.
3. Use the Command + P in Mac OS or Ctrl + P shortcut in Windows OS. It will open the print preview with settings to print the current page in Windows.
4. There, you will find printing settings. You can change the current printer for printing the snapshot from the settings. You can select the colour of the print and even specify particular pages to print.
5. You can proceed to the next step if you are connected to the correct printer.
6. If the user wants to print a webpage, then the web browser can have different settings to print. For example, you can find the option to change the printer adjacent to Destination in Google Chrome.
7. Other web browsers, including Safari and Firefox, provide users with a drop-down menu for Mac and Windows.
8. You can modify the printer settings. For most applications, the user can modify the size of the print, change its orientation and select the copies of the print. The user can also make custom changes before printing the document.
9. Use the Enter key on the keyboard. It will save the changes and send the print job to the assigned printer. You can also use the Print button to give the print command.
10. All you need to do is collect the print from the designated printer.
