B.A. stands for Bachelor of Arts. It is a bachelor degree program that refers to an undergraduate course of study. The course is chosen by the students who wish to pursue under graduation in the field of Liberal Arts or specialisations related to Humanities or Social Science after passing high school. The duration of this undergraduate course is usually three years which may vary on the basis of features and components of the field of study.

The course is available in almost every country in the world like India, Japan, Canada, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, the UK, the US, etc. In India, its duration is three year, but in some countries like Canada, Bangladesh and Japan, it is a four-year course.

Studying the arts teaches you more than just the material on the curriculum; it also teaches you about the underlying workings of the world and the human mind. You learn things that will literally blow your mind and the text is merely utilised as a beginning point of reference.

Eligibility for opting for B.A.

Candidates must have received their 10+2 education from an authorised and recognised board. Additionally, some universities require that applicants have a minimum of 50% cumulative marks in their 10+2. For SC/ ST students, certain colleges also grant a 5% mark relaxation on this criterion.

BA Subjects

In this course out of a number of subjects, a BA student is required to choose only five subjects for the course. Philosophy, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Literature, History, Psychology, Anthropology, Library Science, Archaeology, Education, and other topics are covered in the BA, or Bachelor of Arts, programme.

BA graduates have the opportunity to choose subjects from a wide range of subjects offered in this course. It enables the students to pursue multiple career options. Historians, economists, educators, archaeologists, political scientists, philosophers, social activists, personnel managers, psychiatric and sociological specialists, philosophers, public relations managers, journalists, and more are some of the options. They can get employment in both the private and public sectors. In the private sector, they can work in BPOs, public relations firms, consultancies, journalism, etc. In the public sector, they can work in railways, banks, PSUs, the army, etc.
