(i) GM: General Manager

GM stands for General Manager. All business operations, including revenue generation and spending control, are overseen by a general manager (GM). Within a large corporation, the general manager usually has control of an entire business or business unit. The general manager may rank among the top executives in a smaller corporation.

GM Full Form

Generally, general managers are considered lower than corporate executives but higher than most employees. The position's level of responsibility and significance varies from company to company and is frequently influenced by the hierarchical structure of the organization.

The general manager (GM), who typically serves as the unit's top executive, is in charge of the organization's strategy, budget, personnel, and scorecard metrics. A different official title or recognition may also be given to the general manager of a corporation. For instance, most presidents and chief executive officers (CEOs) of corporations also serve as general managers of their particular businesses.

In certain businesses, the general manager also serves as the chief operating officer (COO), chief marketing officer (CMO), or chief financial officer (CFO). Depending on the company, the position of general manager may be held by a managing director (MD), regional vice president, product manager, branch manager, or vice president.

(ii) GM: Genetic Modification

GM also stands for Genetic Modification. Genetic engineering, another name for genetic modification, is the process of changing a living thing's DNA by changing certain aspects of it. The genetic modification includes inserting a gene from one organism into another, in contrast to conventional breeding in animals and plants. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are those whose genes have been altered. Numerous creatures have undergone genetic alteration to enhance their traits. For instance, it is done in plants to produce more fruit and in animals to develop more productive breeds.

Finding the mass and molar fractions of each distinct mixture component usually yields the composition of an overall mixture. As a result, the mass fraction can be calculated by looking at the percentage of the specified part that makes up the whole of the combination.

Currently, the air we breathe contains about 21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen, and the remainder is made up of argon, certain other gases, and carbon dioxide. Different gas mixes are made by people for specific tasks. For example, patients are usually supplied with a mixture of oxygen and helium as it helps with breathing and aids in the treatment of asthma, emphysema and other respiratory conditions. Similarly, divers and workers in the deep sea also use specific mixtures of gases.

(v) GM: Gross Margin

GM stands for Gross Margin. Net sales, when subtracted from the cost of goods sold (COGS), equals a company's gross margin. Gross margin, in essence, is the money that any business has after paying direct costs associated with creating its products or providing its services.

GM Full Form

Net sales represent the income generated by any company after profits are reduced by items like discounts, returns, and allowances. Also, one must subtract deductions (such as discounts) from the gross sales to get net sales.

The cost of goods sold is the price that a company pays to produce its goods or provide its services. Moreover, the company can include direct labour costs and material costs in its COGS. Likewise, the company may add its initial inventory and any acquisitions made over time to determine its COGS.
