What is the full form of NADA

NADA: National Anti Doping Agency

NADA stands for National Anti Doping Agency. It is an independent Anti-Doping Organization established on 24 November 2005, by Govt. of India under the Societies Registration Act of 1890. It promotes, coordinates and monitors the doping-control programs related to sports in India. Its activities also include adopting and implementing anti-doping rules and policies in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Its head office is in New Delhi, India. As of July 2016, Sh. Navin Agarwal is the Director General and Dr. Saravana Perumal.S is the senior project officer of NADA.

Main Functions

• To execute the Anti Doping Code and ensure it is accepted by all sports organizations in the country
• To coordinate dope testing programs with the help of all participating stakeholders
• To promote anti doping research and education and awareness programs to encourage dope free sports
• To adopt best practices and quality systems for the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the anti doping programs
