What is the full form of NCWNCW: National Commission for WomenNCW stands for National Commission for Women. It is a statutory body of the Govt. of India. It was established in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 (Act No. 20 of 1990 of Govt. of India). It aims to review the constitutional and legal safeguards for women, suggest remedial measures, facilitate speedy redressal of grievances and advise the Government on policies that affect women. The current NCW (as of July, 2017) composed of a chairperson, three members and a member secretary. The chairperson and the members are appointed by the Central Government.
