Strikethrough in Markdown

Strikethrough in Markdown is used to create a horizontal line on the middle of the text. It is different from the underline command. The underline command creates a line below the text, while the strikethrough command creates a line in the middle of the text.

The output of the strikethrough command will appear like:

We can use this command for any text. It is not limited to words, lines, or paragraphs. The strikethrough command indicates that certain words in the document are not meant to be included. The teachers or professors also use it to show the corrections in the projects.

Syntax

To implement the strikethrough command, mention two tilde symbols (~) before and after the text. The tilde symbol is generally present at the left top corner of the keyboard or below the Esc button. There should be no space between the two tildes both at the beginning and end.
