Food is a substance that can be consumed to help our body work, grow and repair itself. It can be of plant or animal origin and generally contains a variety of nutrients like carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. When food is ingested it reaches stomach through esophagus where it is digested completely to provide the energy. Some of the common types of food that we eat include fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, and protein.
