The book starts in a shady place in Kashmir which is documented as the most terrific part of our country then.

Midnight's Children Summary

At midnight of 14 August, when India and Pakistan were separated, a new series of Dunga started in the prone areas such as Punjab and Kashmir. The story is documented in most parts of Kashmir. The main narrator of our story, the writer Saleem, was born on the day of India's independence, 15 August 1947.

The story's main starting points begin with his grandfather in 1915; Aaadam Aziz was a very kind and honest HAKIM. He met his year-long partner at the clinic itself. For the first year, he could only see the portion or area of the infected body, not even her face. He later married Naseem and got five children from her. The couple then moved to the beautiful city where the symbol of love, Tajmahal, stays its feet above the rosy land, Agra. Her children were Alia, Mumtaz, and Emerald, and she had two sons, Mustafa Khan and Hanif.

It was a time of Pre-independence when Abdullah died; Adam decided to hide Nadir Khan, who was earlier his father's assistant, Abdullah. Her wife was not convinced to keep frightened Nadir Khan at her house, but due to her Husband not speaking up for this matter, she chose not to speak and kept him in his basement.

Nadir Khan, a very handsome and delightful person, fell in love with Adam's daughter Mumtaz and later married but kept it secret for two years. Adam surprisingly found out about their marriage and her Daughter's Virginity. Even after two years of marriage, her daughter was still a virgin.

As her sister's future Husband, Zulfikar Bhutto, who at that time was incredibly at Major rank in Pakistan's army, knew about her Husband Nadir hiding in her house, he decided to grab him and put him in jail. But he flees from there as well.

Upon seeing her Husband flee from her life, she decided to marry a young man named Ahmed Sinai, earning a good amount of money as a merchant then.

Mumtaz was convinced to change her name to Amina and decided to migrate or move to Delhi with her young Husband. They spent some time together there, but as some terrorists blew up their house in Delhi, they decided to move again, this time to Bombay. They bought a house from a departing English businessman, William Methold. The whole house was at the top of the hill, and at the same house, they met with poor man wee willie winky, who was previously working as an entertainer to William Methold. Vanita, the poor man's wife, had an affair with the previous owner, who gave birth to the owner's child at the same time as Mumtaz.

Mumtaz named her child Saleem who was born with a cute smile and a long nose similar to his grandfather. His appearance always caused him trouble, so he always tried hiding his nose under his chest.

Saleem soon learned about his power of telepathy and discovered that children like him, born between 12 am and 1 am the same night of 15 August, were also gifted with some of the most special powers and were called "the Midnight children."

Throughout the novel, you can reach out to Saleem as the most exciting and curious personality, and he weaves together the history with his identity of magical realism. This novel indeed comments on the wrong sides and positive aspects of that time's political condition and the challenges the familiar people faced. Midnight's Children is a complex and richly layered work that offers readers a glimpse into the complexities of the human experience.
