Cloud command in Solid Works

Revision clouds creation

To build revision clouds, use the command cloud. Drawings can utilize revision clouds to highlight regions that need or already include modifications.

To highlight drawing regions, you may make freehand, elliptical, and rectangular clouds. In addition, revision clouds may be created using drawing elements such rectangles, polylines, circles, ellipses, and splines.

You may modify more variables to change how the clouds move in succession. You may also design the revision cloud as a straightforward arrangement of linked arcs or as arcs with a calligraphic appearance.

Building rectilinear clouds:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Give the Rectangle option a choice.
  3. Set the rectangle shape's starting corner in the graphics area.
  4. Indicate which side of the rectangular form is opposing.

Making elliptical clouds:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Make sure to choose Elliptical.
  3. Set the first axis of the elliptical shape's start point in the graphics area.
  4. Indicate where the elliptical shape's first axis ends.
  5. Indicate the opposite axis' termination point.

To create cloud shapes by hand:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Indicate the Freehand choice.
  3. Set the freehand shape's starting point in the graphics area.
  4. Indicate the shape's subsequent point.
    - or -
To restart with a new start, point specified, press Enter to return.
  5. Continue to define more freehand form vertices or choose one of the following:
    • Undo: Reverses the preceding section.
    • Close: The contour is closed, and the command is finished.
  6. Enter the key.
Contexts that are open automatically shut.

An entity can be turned into a revision cloud by:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Choose Entity from the menu.
  3. Select the object to convert to a revision cloud in the graphics section.
  4. Do one:
    • To maintain the arcs' default direction, press Enter.
    • If you want the arcs' direction reversed, enter Yes.
  5. Enter the key.

To write with a calligraphy pen to make a revision cloud:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Choose Settings from the menu.
  3. Choose the calligraphy style option in the dialogue box.
  4. Continue with the command by clicking OK.

To determine the cloud formation radius:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Indicate the Radius choice.
  3. Set the radius for each successive arc section of the Cloud.
  4. Enter the key.

To configure cloud formation preferences:

  1. The Cloud command can also be entered directly.
  2. Choose Settings from the menu.
  3. Set preferences in the dialogue box.
    • Shape choices: Sets the shape type to Entity, Elliptical, Rectangular, or Freehand.
    • Revision clouds are shown in calligraphy style, as though with a calligraphy pen.
    • Sets the radius for each subsequent arc segment of a cloud.
    • Sets the Layer on which clouds will be placed.
    • Cloud LineColor is set by LineColor.
    • Sets the Cloud LineStyle for the line.
    • Cloud LineWeight is set by LineWeight.
  4. Select OK.

The Cloud sequential arc segment radius, Layer, LineColor, LineStyle, LineWeight, position, and scale may all be changed using the Properties palette.

Cloud

Draw > Cloud in the menu: Draws a certain shape made up of a series of arcs. For instance, during a revision stage, they are utilized to draw attention to a graphical depiction. Use texts in different languages to remark on the revision cloud.

The cloud can be drawn in one of three various shapes: rectangular, elliptical, or freehand. These shapes can be chosen straight from the ribbon or from the dockable panel while being inserted.

X and Y coordinates must be entered with a value. A comma must be used to separate these two coordinates (for instance, 150, 125).

Shape: Decide which shape to employ. Depending on the form you select, the command choices change.

Determine the radius of each successive arc section.

Options for the Rectangular mode namely Dimension: (Only available in Rectangular mode.) Type the values for its length and height.

Rotation: In the Rectangular mode, enter the value that represents the angle in degrees.

Options for the Elliptical mode in particular

Distance: Enter the first and second ellipse axes' lengths (only available in elliptical mode).

Options for the freehand mode Arc / Line specifically: The entity type you want to depict should be chosen. Other placement options are shown in the Arc mode at the dockable panel's base.

Enter the line or arc's width.

Close: The form is closed. The start point's coordinates also apply to the terminus.

Electrical schemes shouldn't be created using this object type. This command does not handle the graphical elements it places in the electrical project database.
