Choices for Relations/Snaps

Drawing Options

All Sketch Snaps specified under Sketch Snaps are set when you enable snapping.

Grid is the only option under Sketch Snaps that is not automatically chosen when Enable snapping is checked.

Geometry using snap to model

Snaps sketch items to model geometry, such edges.

Relational automation

When you add drawing pieces, geometric relationships are created.

Access Document Grid Settings

Configures the grid display and snap features.

Reset returns all system settings to their factory defaults, or only those seen on this page.

Sketch photos

Clear all the Sketch Snaps' kinds or choose them all.

Snapper angle

To the setting you provide, lines snap in one-degree increments.

The snap angle is based on the X-Y axes of the sketch origin if no additional lines are present.

The snap angle is dependent on the current line if you draw from the end of one.

Creating sketch photos

Setting up Sketch Snaps:

  1. Choose Options or Tools > Options from the menu.
  2. Choose Snapshots/Relations.
  3. To influence all Sketch Snaps, choose or deselect Enable snapping.
  4. Choose or delete the relevant Sketch Snap from the list under Sketch Snaps.

You may override any Sketch Snap that is disabled under Options > Sketch Snaps by selecting Quick Snaps from the menu, shortcut menu, or pull-down toolbar. Sketch > Snaps/Relations in the system options.

The snap angle is based on the X-Y axes of the sketch origin if no additional lines are present.

Design Dimension Driven? Message Box

This dialogue box shows when you add an over defining dimension to a sketch if the Over defining dimensions Sketch option is set to Prompt to establish driven state.

Choose one of the following alternatives, then click OK, to terminate the procedure (the dimension is not placed):

Drive This by Dimension

The situation that was overdefined or unsolvable is fixed.

Driving Out of This Dimension

The drawing is still too detailed or impossible to solve. Find additional dimensions or relationships that you may edit or delete.

Select don't ask to hide this dialogue box again. The previous selection you made will be used by default.

To switch between dimension driven and dimension driving, use the Driven option on the right-click menu.

Short Snaps

Quick Snaps and Sketch Snaps are similar but not the same. Global sketch parameters known as "Sketch Snaps" are used with all sketch commands. Quick Snaps are lone, distinct choices.

Sketch photos

Quick Snaps are single-action, quick Sketch Snaps. Each sketch entity (such a line) may be drawn entirely in a single action.

Utilize sketch entities, model edges in parts, assemblies, and drawings with sketch snaps.

Just the current sketch entity appears in snaps on drawings with multiple entities.
