Capgemini Company

Serge Kampf established Capgemini in 1967 as a data processing and corporate management firm. The Société pour la Gestion de l'Entreprise et le Traitement de l'Information was established in the year 2000. (Sogeti). Sogeti bought Gemini Computers Systems, a New York-based American corporation, in 1974. Following the acquisition of Milwaukee-based DASD Corporation, Cap Gemini Sogeti established U.S. operations in 1981, specialized in data conversion, and employed 500 workers in 20 locations. The U.S. Operation was renamed Cap Gemini DASD after this acquisition.

The name was changed to Cap Gemini in 1996, along with a new group logo. All of Cap Gemini's operating companies were renamed Cap Gemini. In the year 2000, Cap Gemini purchased Ernst & Young Consulting. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young was formed due to the merger of Gemini Consulting and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Cap Gemini S.A. changed its name to Capgemini S.E. in 2017, and its Euronext ticker changed from CAP GEMINI to CAPGEMINI. Capgemini employs almost 300,000 people in more than 50 countries, with nearly 125,000 in India.

In 2018, they paid $500 million for LiquidHub, a digital customer interaction startup based in Philadelphia, to help Capgemini's digital and cloud expansion in North America. It has a large backend workforce in India. Kanbay was purchased for $1.2 billion, and iGate was previously purchased for $4 billion by Capgemini. Capgemini purchased Altran in 2019, raising the total number of employees to over 250,000. This is the company's greatest acquisition to date.

Capgemini purchased RXP Services and Acclimation in Australia in 2021 to grow their activities in the country.

Sogeti

Capgemini Group's Sogeti is a completely owned subsidiary. It is a technology and engineering professional services firm specializing in information technology consulting.

Capgemini Invent

The Capgemini Group's design and consultancy brand, Capgemini Invent, was introduced in September 2018. Capgemini Invent employs more than 10,000 people in 37 offices across the world.

Management

The Executive Committee of the Capgemini Group is made up of 27 people. Paul Hermelin served as Chairman and CEO of the company from 2012 to 2020. In 1993, he joined Capgemini as a consultant, and in 2002, he became the company's CEO. Hermelin was appointed Chairman and CEO of Capgemini in May 2012. He took over as Vice Chairman of the Board from Serge Kampf, who died on March 15, 2016. Paul Hermelin stepped down as CEO in May 2020, and Aiman Ezzat took over. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Paul Hermelin, remains in place.

Awards and Recognition

Capgemini won the Citrix system integrator award in 2017 for its My Workspace Services. At Connect 2017, Capgemini was recognized as a Partner Award Winner. In 2017, IBM awarded Capgemini the Outstanding Partnership Award for Security.
