Amity University, Noida, sometimes referred to as Amity University Uttar Pradesh, is a private research university in Noida, India. The university is approved by the U.G.C. (University Grants Commission) and has an "A+" rating from the NAAC. Amity University provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate courses on campus and online in various subject areas. Along with campuses abroad in New York, London, Dubai, and Singapore, it also has campuses in India.

History

Student merit-based scholarships and reservations were first implemented at this private university in India. According to reports, the institution had over 80,000 students enrolled in 240 majors in 2011. Atul Chauhan is the chancellor of Amity University, Dr Balvinder Shukla is the vice-chancellor, and Ashok Chauhan is the head of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation. The foundation's second president is Aseem Chauhan.

A memorandum of agreement was struck in September 2015 between the university and the B.S.E. Institute, a branch of the Bombay Stock Exchange, to begin a 2-year distance learning M.B.A. programme in global financial markets that will be open to both students and working professionals. The institution opened its New York campus in September 2016 by acquiring the 170-acre St. John's University campus in Oakdale, New York.
