Central University of Haryana

The Central Universities Act, 2009, an Act of Parliament used by the Government of India, established the Central University of Haryana in the Jant-Pali villages in the Mahendragarh district of Haryana, India. The whole state of Haryana is under the Central University of Haryana's geographical purview. Previously, on March 1, 2014, the University conducted its inaugural Convocation. It belongs to the group of 15 Central Universities connected to the MHRD, GoI. Ten kilometers (6.2 miles) from Mahendergarh on the Mahendergarh-Bhiwani road, the College's campus is in Jant-Pali Villages. Presently serving as the College's vice-chancellor is Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar.

Central University of Haryana

History

Contrary to the majority of universities, which state governments founded, a Union University or Central University in India is formed by the Department of Higher Education, often by an Act of Parliament. Through an Act of Parliament known as "The Central Universities Act, 2009" by the Government of India, this University was founded as one of 12 additional proposed Central Universities in the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. A new central university is to be established in the following states: Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, according to the Central Universities Bill 2009.

Facilities

  • Virtual Classes: The Central University of Haryana provides virtual classes to students. The internet is the main source from which students can obtain the needed information and comprehend the crucial aspects of their courses.
  • English Language Lab: A division of the School of Language, Linguistics, Culture, and Heritage is the Department of English and Foreign Languages. The branch was first connected in 2009, at the same time the University was established, and it was trained skillfully by the esteemed Vice Chancellor Mool Chand Sharma. In the academic year 2009-2010, the department launched the M. Phil. and Ph. D. programs. Three students from schools are currently involved in the department.
  • Computer Centre: As more and more people sign up for Internet services, the number is growing day by day. Currently, the National Knowledge Network provides Internet access to over 20,000 users via wifi and over 10,000 devices via wired network thanks to Central University Computer Centre (CUCC), which also builds and manages India's largest academic IT network (NKN). Currently, Campus and NKN are connected by a 1 Gbps connection.
  • Life Science Lab: The School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Life Sciences (SIAL) was founded in June 2015 to bridge the divide between traditional and applied life science components via teaching and research in these fields (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Nutrition biology). The main goal is to develop skilled labor that can contribute to the advancement of humanity. Both departments are working to address the difficulties and provide master's and doctoral students with theoretical and research-focused training. By offering outstanding instruction and training to aspirant researchers and scientists, the School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Life Sciences (SIAL) hopes to contribute to the nation's advancement.
  • Chemistry: Following its relocation to a permanent site in Jant-Pali, Mahendragarh and the Chemistry Department of CUH began operations in the 2013-2014 academic year. Only three contract faculty and one DST Inspire school managed the little department from 2013 to 2015. However, in just two years, the department was able to recruit established researchers with high reputations to the department, and as a result, we have significantly expanded. Currently, we have one full professor, one adjunct professor, four assistant professors, one DST Inspire faculty member, and one DST Young Scientist (Fast-track project).
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: The campus has a round-the-clock 1 Gbps leased line and is completely networked using sophisticated CISCO switches. The academic, administrative, and dorm buildings on campus all have wifi connectivity, and each node has internet access. The students have access to fast wifi connectivity and the internet on campus. This enables users to access online class lectures, assignments, and directions supplied by professors and the institution. The New Academic Blocks are in front of a wifi park.
  • Sport Facility: Under the guidance of Sanjay Kumar, the newly appointed sports activities in-charge, Central University of Haryana took part in North Quarter/All India University Games 2016-17 for the first time. The University had established its presence in chess, volleyball (men's and women's), cricket, badminton, kho-kho, athletics, and football. The protests have taken place across the country in places like Hissar, Patiala, Meerut, Rohtak, Delhi, Jalandhar, Chennai, Kurukshetra, and Punjab. One of the two central institutions that competed in the All India Inter University Athletics Tournament was CUH.
  • Health Care Facility: The University Health Center is staffed by trained human resources to provide all staff and students with essential scientific fitness services. It is now deteriorating due to the unique construction of the health center.

Health Centers offer free first aid and basic fitness services to students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff to increase the general productivity of students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff by ensuring everyone is in good health and providing the added benefit of reducing the need for absenteeism due to minor illnesses that don't require a GP visit.

Hostel

  • The Central University of Haryana offers top-notch housing options.
  • The hostel's design ensures that each room has access to natural light and airflow.
  • For PG and UG college students, there are two hostels for guys identical to those for girls.
  • To address the drinking water needs of hostel guests, filtered RO water is distributed through coolers.
  • The restrooms offer running water around the clock.
  • The hostel features a functional kitchen throughout the year and provides tenants with wholesome meals.
  • The hostel tenants have access to a TV room, a gym, and a reading area where newspapers and periodicals are stored.
  • Two badminton courts are available. There is wifi available at the hostel. The hostel provides outstanding settings for searching for students.
  • Bus service is available from the accommodation to the academic buildings. For the college students in the PWD class, a separate room comes in conveniently.
  • Over the years, The Hostel has created its distinct appeal and way of life.

Transport Facility

Two buses that belong to the University are used for the following things:

  • To prepare the pupils for many industry trips as per the curriculum.
  • College students will be transported from hostels to new academic buildings at intervals of 15 minutes from 08.45 a.m. to 05.45 p.m.
  • Transporting college students on weekends to the library or departments.

Central Instrumentation Centre

To improve the technical infrastructure for promoting R & D at the institution, the Central Instrumentation Centre (CIC) at CUH, Mahendergarh, was established. The facility now has three excessively powerful equipment that may be utilized for chemical/material analysis, testing, and characterization: an atomic force microscope, an LC-MS/MS, and a bench-top NMR. The service will enable researchers, students, and academic institutions to keep up with global trends and publish their research findings in peer-reviewed, high-impact publications. This newly constructed facility will be heavily utilized by postgraduate, doctorate, and faculty members. It will also be extended to outside organizations and most educational institutions nationwide on a fee basis.

The University has 11 Schools (totaling 30 Departments) that provide courses for graduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and doctoral degrees. The Central University Common Entrance Test, or CUCET, is the only admission method. The schools in the area are:

The College's logo has a globe in the center, surrounded by the sacred trinity of three curves, and a line of poetry from Bhartihari's "Neeti Shatkam" at the bottom. The base of the building has a curve that depicts an open book and a Veena, signifying the College's responsibility to support students in their quest for knowledge, Education, enlightenment, and the advancement of their craft and culture.

The right-hand curve, which depicts science, creativity, and experience cycles, symbolizes the College's duty to foster logical advancement and create a culture of inventiveness, development, and questioning attitude.

The curve in the wall that depicts nature stands for the College's responsibility to advance training, teaching consideration for biology, the environment, and coexisting with nature. The globe in the center, surrounded by the human chain, and the pigeon flying overhead convey the College's belief that the obligations addressed by the trinity of three curves will lead to global harmony, success, and human fortitude-the true essence of Education. The shloka at the bottom says that "training" is the greatest blessing.

Controversy

Misrepresentation of Land

Local and state leaders pledged to provide the adjacent residents with the Education and employment they needed when the town residents rented the property for the College on an apparent lease basis. People felt taken advantage of, and assistance was not provided. Since then, M.M.Pallam Raju, Association Pastor for Human Asset Advancement, has informed the locals that bookings for house-related jobs are not permitted under the Central Colleges Act, 2009.

RSS Pioneering Discourse

Sunil Ambekar, a top head of the RSS, presented a meeting on a "research plan" without an examination degree and as the primary visitor supervised by Central College of Haryana, which caused controversy and critique of the College. A few scholars have investigated the decision and asked if it faces pressure from the government.

Achievements

  1. CUH received NCTE approval for its M.P.Ed. Course, which started in 2021-2022.
  2. Three synchronized courses, Science, Material Science, and M.Sc. degrees, are all degrees in science. Science started in 2021-2022, with several sections and exits and the option of a long-term graduate program.
  3. Started 3 M.Tech courses starting in 2021-2022.
  4. Gurugram's Foundation of Preparing and Arrangement Center
  5. More than 30 students had local experience in various organizations.
  6. Signed Memorandum of Understanding: CUH inked an agreement with J. C. Bose College and YMCA Faridabad on September 18, 2021. Offset Printer's Affiliation, CUH, marked MoU, September 30, 2021
  7. Implementation of Samarth E-Gov. Project: The College has launched several cutting-edge efforts as part of its E-Administration initiative, including Learning the committee E-Samarth Framework and digitalizing all official actions, including confirmations and student services.
  8. Started Wellbeing Place in its new location.
  9. Applied for a loan from Scholastic Bank of Credit.
  10. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav - Coordinated Globally Online course on youth employment in the country expanding under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan starting on 12.08.2021. Online course via "Educational Examination and Techno-instructional Method" as a part of the "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" hung on 06.09.2021, "Games for Learning: Instructors' Tool compartment" on 01.10.2021, "Patching up Educational Program and Instructional method: Post-2020 Schooling" on 11.10.2021, and "Educational Examination and Techno-instructional Method: Post-2020 Schooling" on 12.10.2021.

With fresh rationale, widespread collaboration, and organization, the College is moving in the right direction. The Public Evaluation and Certification Committee (NAAC), which awarded the Central College of Haryana an "A" rating, are continually developing its capabilities. The College is making exceptional efforts for the understudies' Education, including skill development and arrangement. The Preparing and Situation Center office has also been established in Gurugram for this purpose.

CUH is moving forward with the goal of the overall growth of the students at its core.
