About IPU

Following the terms of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act 1998, as amended in 1999, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was the first University to be created. The University is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India following provision 12B of the UGC Act. The explicit goals of this teaching and affiliated University are to "achieve excellence in these and related fields as well as other matters connected in addition to that or incidental to that" and to facilitate and promote "studies, research, and extension work in emerging areas of higher education with a focus on professional education, for example, engineering, technology, management studies, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, education, etc. The University formed its vision, mission, and quality policy statements to fulfill the broad objectives for which it was founded.
