MS University

The Government of Tamil Nadu established Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (M.S. University), a State University and a wealthy center of higher learning, in Tirunelveli in September 1990 to meet the long-felt needs of the people of the three southernmost districts of Tamilnadu, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Kanyakumari. Its 26 teaching departments offer a wide variety of P.G., Integrated P.G., P.G. Diploma, and P.G. Certificate Courses. Six M.S.U. Colleges, four Constituent Colleges, and more than 102 affiliated colleges make up the robust network that the University acquired.

Courses at M.S. University

The University contains 24 departments that offer U.G., P.G., and research-level courses in the arts, languages, and sciences. Undergraduate programs in BA, B.Com., The University's affiliated colleges offer B.B.A., B.L.I.Sc., and B.Sc. At the postgraduate level, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University provides MA, M.Sc., MJMC, M.C.A., M.E., M.Ed, M.Tech, M.P.Ed, M. Com, M.S.W., M.B.A., and MHRD.

M.S. University Admissions

Applications can be submitted offline for any U.G. and P.G. courses. The results of the TANCET exam, administered by Anna University, will determine admission to the M.B.A. program. The University Department conducts group discussions and individual interviews to arrive at the final selection.

Note: You may also pay your application fee by sending a challan to the Indian Bank, M.S.University Branch, Abishekapatti, Tirunelveli-12. Candidates from SC/ST are excused from paying any application fees for just one course. However, they must still pay the entrance exam price.

Program for Distance Learning at M.S. University

Under the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management, the University also provides a variety of distance U.G. and P.G. programs in various specializations. The application forms are available for download on the University's official website, and those who qualify will be shortlisted for the distance learning programs. Application forms that have been adequately completed, demand draughts or challans, and certificates must be delivered to the university office before the deadline.

Library

The library of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University was founded in 1990 and has since been renovated to a more digitalized version to keep up with modern e-content trends. M.S. University Tirunelveli Facilities Library: The students can use the Remote Access technique and a secret password to access the library's electronic resources from wherever they are. 1,14,995 books in nearly every academic field are housed in the University's large and diverse collection at the Central Library.

Hostel

On the grounds of the hostel, the institution offers housing for female students. Four students can fit in each room, and all the amenities are affordable. Each year, the following fee is levied against the students.

• Application Fee: 100 rupees.
• Institutional Fee: 1900 each semester.
• 1000 rupees per semester for room rent
• Caution Deposit: 3000 Rupees (which will be refunded at the end of the academic year)
• A monthly mess fee of Rs. 75 per day is charged. A division system is used to compute the cost of electricity.
• Students staying in the hostel during seminars, conferences, and workshops are charged a rate of Rs. 200; refunds are offered on an N-2 basis (where N is the number of days they are absent).

Athletic Facilities

The institution coordinates various intercollegiate sporting events between its associated colleges to meet the students' physical fitness needs during their program years.
