History

Patrick Blackett, the 1948 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, and Daulat Singh Kothari, the recipient of the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan, founded Indian Armament Studies, later known as the Institute of Armament Technology (now the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, or D.I.A.T.), in 1952. In 1940, the Royal Society gave Blackett the Royal Medal, and in 1946, the American Medal for Merit. Patrick Blackett headed Imperial College London's Physics Department. The Blackett Laboratory is the name of the current Imperial College Physics department building.

2. College of Engineering, Pune

A Unitary Public University of the Government of Maharashtra, C.O.E.P is a technological University located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. "COEPians" refers informally to students who graduate from this college. To train public works department employees (P.W.D.), the institution was founded in July 1854 and given the name "Poona Engineering and Mechanical School." It was located in Bhawani Peth, Poona, and consisted of three homes for instructional purposes and a have a separate residence for the principal. They gave Henry Coke the reins of the Institute in July 1857. Everyone was welcome to apply, regardless of race or caste. For admission to the Institute, candidates needed to have a strong command of English and a foundational understanding of mathematics.

The admission procedure required the prospective student to apply to the closest government English school. Later, in 1865, the institution adopted the name "Poona Civil Engineering College." On August 5, 1865, Sir Bartle Frere, the Governor of Bombay and future Vice-Chancellor of the University, laid the cornerstone for the new institution. Theodore Cooke, M.A., was chosen to serve as the Principal in June of the following year. It began offering Licensed and Civil Engineering (LCE) courses and educated overseers and masons. When they amended the curriculum in 1886, matriculation became the minimal requirement for entrance.

3. M.I.T. World Peace University

A state-owned private university (deemed institution), M.I.T. World Peace University (MIT-WPU) is situated in Kothrud, Pune, India. The M.I.T. Group of Institutions includes it. Dr Vishwanath Karad M.I.T. World Peace University is its full name. It was created following Maharashtra Government Act No. XXXV 2017.

History

M.I.T., previously the (Maharashtra Institute of Technology) network of institutions, was referred to as the World Peace University. It was also one of the earliest private engineering colleges in Maharashtra.

Raj Baugh's Raj Kapoor Family Memorial

The Samadhi (monument) of Raj Kapoor and his parents is located in their estate, "Rajbaugh," which means the "king of gardens." Rajbaugh, a part of the M.I.T. Art Design Technology University (MIT ADT), is situated in the Maharashtra village of Loni Kalbhor, 30 kilometres east of Pune, on the banks of the Mula-Mutha River. The Kapoor family sold M.I.T. a portion of Rajbaugh's 125 acres, and M.I.T. erected a tribute to the Kapoor family on its grounds. In 2014, the Memorial was dedicated in the presence of the Kapoor family and Lata Mangeshkar.

The Kapoor Family Memorial features seven pagodas that depict scenes from Raj Kapoor's films, as well as a museum or gallery where visitors may view pictures of Raj Kapoor's family and the production of his films from 1945 to 1990. Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust oversees the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (BRACT). According to the 1950 Bombay Trust Act, the Trust was created on June 16, 1975. The Trust engages in social, spiritual, and academic pursuits. According to Indian mythology, the God architect-engineer was known as "Vishwakarma."

Campus

The 7 acres that make up the campus (28,000 m2) comprise four structures, a cafeteria, a coffee shop, a fruit juice stand, a breakfast centre, N.P.B., and an auditorium with ceiling fans that are also completely air-conditioned. In the academic year 2002-2003, the college underwent a co-educational conversion and adopted the name Dr D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pimpri, Pune. Affiliation with Savitribai Phule Pune University exists for the college. The institution bears the name of D. Y. Patil, a former governor of the Indian state of Bihar. There is a hostel for both girls and boys. The complex's main gate is direct across from the girl's hostel, while the boy's hostel is a few miles distant.

The Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (M.K.S.S.S.) operates the Cummins Institution of Engineering for Women (C.C.O.E.W.), an autonomous engineering college in Pune, Maharashtra, India, which was founded in 1991.

It was renamed after Cummins India Foundation made a sizable donation. The Cummins India Foundation was founded in 1991 by Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samshta, a 113-year-old institution with a century-long history dedicated to the upliftment of women by educating and empowering them. The business school, Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, usually called SIMS Pune, is situated in Pune, India. SIMS Pune, India's sole Institute for military personnel and their dependents, offers a few spots to non-military students. S.I.M.S.A.R.C.
