NIT Tiruchirappalli, also known as NIT Trichy, is a public research and technical institution in Tamil Nadu, India, not far from the city of Tiruchirappalli. Both governments of India and Tamil Nadu established this institution in the year 1964 as the Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli, which was affiliated with the University of Madras.
With the cooperation of the UGC- University Grants Commission, the Indian Government, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the college received Deemed University status in 2003. It changed its name to National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli. The institute is among the institutes of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) system, a collection of leading Indian technical institutions governed by the Council of NITSER, and has been designated as an Institute of National Importance by the Indian Govt. under the "NITSER" Act, 2007- "National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research."

7. Loyola College, Chennai
Loyola College, a Catholic Minority College, was established by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in the year 1925, with the main purpose of offering College Education in a Christian environment for worthy students regardless of caste and faith.
It began operations in July 1925 with only 75 students on the registers in three UG courses of Math, History, and Economics. Loyola College, however, associated with the University of Madras, became independent in July 1978. It is independent, in the sense that it is allowed to establish its own course of study and employ new and creative methods of teaching and assessment. The University educational degrees will be awarded to the students clearing the exams offered by the college.

8. P.S.G College of Technology, Coimbatore
PSG College of Technology is indeed an independent, government-funded, private engineering institute in Coimbatore, India. It is associated with Anna University. It is linked with PSG and Sons Charities Trust. Among many engineering institutes in India, PSG College of Technology was rated 6th among private engineering colleges by India Today in 2018.
In the year 1926, PSG College of Technology was initially founded as "PSG Industrial Institute" by PSG and Sons Charities at Peelamedu, Coimbatore. This engineering college was actually started on, the institute campus in the year 1951 under the guidance of G. R. Damodaran, who also became the very first principal of the college. The University of Madras awarded the institution autonomous/ independent status in the year 1978, which was further maintained by Bharathiar University and later by Anna University in 2001.
Around 50 full-time and part-time programs in the field of science, engineering, and management at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level by the 11 departments, including engineering and tech., computer applications, management sciences, fundamental sciences, and humanities. 10. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU)
The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has its birth from the creation of an educational Agricultural School at Saidapet, Madras, in the state of Tamil Nadu, in the year 1868, and it was subsequently transferred to Coimbatore.
In the year 1920, it was associated with Madras University. TNAU gained complete duties of education of Agricultural and its research and assisted the State Agricultural Department by providing research findings. The Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore, was the only institute for education related to agriculture for the entire South India.
In 1958, it was designated as a leading educational center in Post-graduation to Master's degrees and Doctoral degrees.
