2. National Institute of Technology

National Institute of Technology commonly known as NITK Surathkal, is ranked Second in this list. NITK is a public Technical university located in Mangalore city of Karnataka. It was established in the year 1960 at that time it was named Karnataka Regional Engineering College but later in 2002, it was renamed to its current name. NITK is recognized as the Institute of National Importance by the government of India along with other 31 colleges which was started after 2008.

The campus of the institute is Suburban near the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea, NH 66 runs between the college campus and serves as the major mode of access in the institute.

NITK offers courses for both undergraduate and Postgraduate students who are willing to pursue Management, Science, and Engineering Programs. Process of Admission

3. Ramaiah Institute of Technology

At present, over 772 students are pursuing this institute.

Academics

PESU admits 40% of its students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET ranks and 60% of its students based on PESSAT (the university's entrance test) ranks. PESU also admits students under a Management quota, which may not place any merit requirements. It also has a lateral entry scheme wherein students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering. Further, after completing graduation, students receive a Bachelor of Technology degree.

Students get admission to postgraduate courses based on their GATE test scores including their Post Graduate Karnataka CET scores. After completing graduation, they get a Master of Technology degree.
