Lata Mangeshkar was named Hema Mangeshkar at birth. She was born on 28th September 1929 and died on 6 February 2022 was an Indian playback vocalist and music composer occasionally. She is largely acknowledged as one of India's most successful and influential vocalists who have been one of the best and most influential vocalists in India. Her contributions to the music industry of India in a career spanning eight decades earned her prestigious titles including the "Nightingale of India", "Queen of Melody", & "Voice of the Millennium".

Lata Mangeshkar recorded songs in approximately 36 languages of India and a few other languages, albeit mostly in Marathi, Hindi, and Bengali. She knew foreign languages including English, Indonesian, Nepali, Russian, and Swahili, Dutch. She won various awards and honors over her career. In the year 1989, the "Dadasaheb Phalke Award" was awarded to her by the Indian government.

In the year 2001, in appreciation of her achievements to the country, she was granted the "Bharat Ratna", India's most prestigious award title; she is only the 2nd female vocalist, following M. S. Subbulakshmi, to earn this honor. France also awarded her its highest civilian award, "Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honour", in the year 2007.

She was the winner of 3 National Film Awards, 15 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards, 4 Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards, 2 Filmfare Special Awards, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, and many more. In 1974, she became one of the 1st Indian playback vocalists to appear at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. Her final recorded track was "Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti ki" which got released on 30th March 2019 as a tribute to our warriors our Indian Army and the Nation.

At one moment, she was featured in the "Guinness Book of world records", which identified her as the most-recorded artist/ vocalist in history between the years 1948-1987. On 8th Jan 2022, Lata Mangeshkar got COVID-19 positive with minor symptoms and was hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital's critical care unit in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She stayed in the ICU with indications of "minimal improvement" in her condition.

The physicians treating her had removed her from the ventilator on 28th Jan after her condition "improved marginally"; however, she was returned to the ventilator on 5th February, when her condition worsened and was having "aggressive therapy". Lata Mangeshkar passed away due to multi-organ failure syndrome on 6th February 2022, she was 92 years old. She had 28 days of continuous therapy for pneumonia and COVID-19.

PM Shri Narendra Modi visits Lata Mangeshkar's Family and Asha Bhosle after paying homage to Lata Mangeshkar in Mumbai. The Indian govt. proclaimed a 2 days period of national mourning and that the country's flag will fly at half-mast from 6th to 7th February across India out of gratitude and a token of respect for her. On 10th February 2022, Lata Ji's ashes were immersed in Ramkund, in the Godavari River in Nashik by her sibling Usha and nephew Adinath Mangeshkar.Here is the list of the top 10 songs of Lata Mangeshkar:-
