Tizen Operating System

Tizen is a Linux-based mobile OS that was developed and is mostly used by Samsung Electronics. It has the backing of the Linux Foundation. The project was mainly designed and developed to be an HTML5-based mobile platform to succeed MeeGo. Samsung incorporated its earlier Linux-based operating system project, Bada, into Tizen and has since predominantly deployed it on platforms like smart TVs and wearable devices.

Samsung's proprietary components are included in the software development kit. Sections of the OS are released under the Flora License, a version of the Apache License 2.0 that offers a patent license exclusively to "Tizen-approved platforms".

The developer community designed this open and flexible operating system. It is available to all users who wish to utilize it because it is an open-source OS. Developers are also allowed to utilize, develop, and design use cases. It's also a multipurpose operating system. It is a primary OS that comes in various profiles based on the device and industry requirements.
