Similipal, named after the 'Simul' (Silk Cotton) tree, is a national park and a Tiger Reserve located in the northernmost section of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district. The tiger habitat covers an area of 2750 square kilometers and includes rivers such as Joranda and Barehipani.

The park is bordered by highlands and hills, with the highest point being the Twin Mountains of Khairiburu and Meghashini (1515m above mean sea level).
