Interview Excerpt

Q. How did you get the Mithaai show?

A. Amita Choksi said, "I had tried out for the part. I previously worked with the production house, and it was a pleasure to deal with him. I collaborated with them on a short film. I've done some loud roles in the past, and now I wanted to play a sober role, so I took the position and seized this chance. My role is like an optimistic mother, and I've never played a character like this before."

Q. Would you accept the opportunity to participate in a reality program like Bigg Boss or Khatron Ke Khiladi in the future?

A. She said, "I'd want to participate since I enjoy watching reality TV. Bigg Boss is a very difficult show, and it provides an actor tremendous exposure. Therefore, I would love to do it. Being a part of the show is interesting."

Q. What is your opinion of how actors connect with their fans on social media? Sometimes, fans go too far and start being mean via trolling.

A. She said, "There are always positives and negatives to using social media. The benefit is that, as performers, we can interact with our fans, but occasionally, trolls can be nasty. Just as one should take nice remarks seriously, one should also take bad ones. One shouldn't let the situation impact them and always take things in moderation."

Q. Do you believe that Bollywood and television will be replaced by OTT platforms given how far along the digital industry is?

A. She said, "People are moving towards OTT since everything is going to be on mobile and life has become so competitive, and everyone wants to view things in a pleasant way, which OTT provides to the audience, so Bollywood and television can be replaced by OTT platforms."

Q. Do you have a dream role you'd like to play in the future, and who is your ideal director and actor to collaborate with?

A. Amrita said, "I have numerous dream roles that I would like to play, most of which are content-driven. But I'd like to play an evil character someday because there's so much to do with the part, and it's something different. I would love to collaborate with Amitabh Bachchan one day since I'm a tremendous fan, and I'd also like to be directed by Anurag Kashyap."
