After completing his education, he wanted to be an actor, and due to this, he took acting training form many famous acting institutes; and also gave auditioned for many movies, and he got a chance to be part of a film in the year 2007. Inspired by his Acting capabilities, famous director Puri Jagannadh decided to give him the main lead actor in his film Chirutha. He plays the role of Charan in this film, and C. Ashwini Dutt produced this movie. This movie was also successful at the box office, and Ram Charan won many awards for this movie, including Filmfare Male best debut award. 
After this, in the year 2009, his second movie was released, and this movie established him as one of the best actors or upcoming superstars of Tollywood or the Telugu film industry. The name of the film was Magadheera which was directed by the famous director of today's time S. S. Rajamouli. He played a dual role in this film and won the hearts of millions of people worldwide. In the year 2012, he got the offer for the film Racha and got a chance to play the role of a gambler; in this film, he played the role of Betting Raj, and the director of this movie was Sampath Nandi. This film was able to win the heart of the audience and was also successful at the box office. Due to the success of this film, he got a chance to be part of two other films in the year 2013; Naayak was the first film of him in 2013, and in this film, he again played a dual role, this film was directed by V. V. Vinayak, and this film was very successful at the box office, and the popularity of Ram Charan increased so much, and due to this in the same year, he got a chance to be part of Bollywood or Hindi Cinema. He got a chance to play the role of an ACP, Vijay Khanna, in the film Zanjeer; Priyanka Chopra was also in the lead role in this film. His debut in Bollywood was not successful, and the film Zanjeer did not get the audience's love and did not do well at the box office, and after this, Ram decided not to be part of Hindi films again. 
After working in Zanjeer, the next year, he was part of two films; the first film was Yevadu and the second film was Govindudu Andarivadele, both films were successful at the box office, and he also impressed everyone with his acting. In 2015 he was part of the film Bruce Lee: The Fighter and this movie became one of the record broker films for Ram Charan. After this, he was part of many films, but the success he got from the film Rangasthalam made him a superstar in the Telugu Film industry. In the year 2015 film, Rangasthalam was released, and the director of Rangasthalam was Sukumar Bandreddi. He played the character of Chitti Babu in this film and got much applause and appreciation for this role.
