Keanu Charles Reeves, a Canadian-American actor, is best known for his portrayal as Neo in the action film series The Matrix, Ted Logan in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, and Officer Jack Traven in Speed. Other notable roles include those of Siddhartha Gautama in Little Buddha, Scott Favor opposite River Phoenix in the drama My Own Private Idaho, Johnny Mnemonic opposite Dolph Lundgren in a science fiction film, Kevin Lomax's complete reverse Al Pacino in the psychological drama The Devil's Advocate, the chevalier Danceny in Dangerous Liaisons, as well as the lead roles in Chain Reaction, Constantine, and the epic surf drama Point Break.

In the 1990s, he was a member of the grunge band Dogstar. More recently, he was a member of the band Becky. In a 2006 ET online poll, he was ranked among the "Top Ten of America's Favorite Stars." On January 31, 2005, Reeves received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He is the child of Patricia Bond, a costume designer and actor, and geologist Samuel Nowlin Reeves, Jr. Reeves' mother is English, while his father is an American of Hawaiian and Chinese descent. His mother originally met Reeves' father when he was employed in Beirut.
