Sonu Kakkar

Sonu Kakkar is an Indian playback singer from the Bollywood industry. Apart from Hindi, she has sung in various languages like Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi and Telugu. Apart from singing, she has also been part of television shows.

Nowadays, she is an Instagram influencer who sings various songs in her melodious voice. 'Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo' is the song which made Sonu Kakkar popular among the audience and is one of her best songs to date.

Sonu Kakkar is quite religious and practices Hinduism. She had an immense belief in Lord Ganesha.

Early Life and Education

Sonu Kakkar was born in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand on 20 October 1979. Sonu's mothers name is Niti Kakkar. Rishikesh Kakkar is her father, who had a fast-food street shop. Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar are her siblings and singers in the Bollywood industry. Tony Kakkar is also a music composer in the Bollywood industry.

In 2006 Sonu Kakkar was married to Neeraj Sharma. The couple has a beautiful daughter named Amira. She is quite a family kind of woman who likes spending time with her family and relatives, especially with her child.

Sonu comes from a financially weak family. Being the elder, she had to help her father for their family's well-being. Her father used to put up a samosa stall outside her school. She was even teased because her father ran a tea stall. Her primary education started in Uttarakhand, and after completing 8th grade, her family shifted to Delhi.

In Delhi, Sonu Kakkar was admitted to Holy Public School, where she completed her remaining education. Sonu Kakkar has never been to college for her higher studies.

After shifting to Delhi, she used to do religious stage shows where she sang bhajan. Even Tony and Neha used to join her stage shows, and people just loved them.

After this, they started participating in various music competitions and discussing the results. Everyone knew how successful they were.

Singing Career

Sonu Kakkar started singing just at the age of 5. She used to sing bhajan at jagratas. She went to Mumbai, where she participated in Indian Pop Star. Because of her talent and melodious voice, Bollywood music director Sandeep Chowta gave her a chance to sing Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo from the movie Dum. Sonu's debut song changed her career because the song was a hit and even got her awards.

Later Sonu sang songs like Seduction Saawariya, Lawaani, Ishq Da Tadka and Mundyaa. In 2014, she released her solo work titled as Urban Munda which got famous.

In an interview, Sonu Kakkar said that she was never trained for music nor learnt it from somewhere. She was able to enter the Bollywood music industry because of her talents. She is the first member of the Kakkar family to pursue a career in music.

Sonu has given her beautiful voice to the famous Nepali song Salaam Lijiye Kabool Kijiye.

In 2016, Sonu sang Dil Ashqon Me from the movie Fever with Tony Kakkar. Phir Fir Teri Bahon Me is another song Sonu sang, whose lyrics are also written by her younger brother Tony Kakkar. She even runs her own YouTube channel.

In 2015, Sonu sang Foreign Balamwa from the movie Margarita With A Straw. After this, she sang Hip-Hip Hurrah from Mere Dad Ki Maruti with Sachin Gupta. The same year she even did a Telugu song named Rangoli.

Sonu also sang Ooh Lala from the movie Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan in her melodious voice along with his sister Neha Kakkar. She also became the part of T-Series Electro Folk album, where she sang the song Chamba.

She has sung the song De Taali remix from Bal Ganesh 2 with Neeraj Sridhar and Neha Kakkar. Gazab Nageriya's, Mere Dil Mein, Mainu Tere Naal, Bhul Ja, Jamana badal Gaya are few collections song by Sonu Kakkar.

Sonu Kakkar sang the song Bareilly Ke Bajar Mein remix from the movie Jail, which was a hit and even gave her recognition. She has also sung the Sing Raja from the movie Joker.

Awards

Sonu Kakkar became very famous in Bollywood and the TV industry. In 2014, she received the MTV Video Music Award for her debut album, Urban Munda. Her song Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo also won her the MTV Immies award. In several super-successful songs, she has shared the wonder of her voice.

Sonu Kakkar kept working hard, which fetched her new singing offers. She achieved a lot because of her singing skills. She is a very successful singer and also a successful person in real life.
